Australia's S&P/ASX 200 (Index: ^AXJO)(ASX: XJO) and ALL ORDINARIES (Index: ^AXAO) (ASX: XAO) indices finished higher on Thursday.

Here's a short recap of the Australian market:

  • S&P/ASX 200 (Index: ^AXJO) (ASX: XJO) higher 0.39% to 6,666.30
  • ALL ORDINARIES (Index: ^AXAO) (ASX: XAO) higher 0.40% to 6,743.00
  • AUD/USD at US 70 cents
  • Gold at US$1,406.81 an ounce
  • Brent Oil at US$66.31 a barrel

The best-performing ASX 200 share today was the Pact Group Holdings Ltd (ASX: PGH) share price which rose by 11.8%.

The Cromwell Group (ASX: CMW) share price fell 8% after returning to trade after its capital raising.

The share price of Scentre Group (ASX: SCG) rose 1.3% today as it announced an asset sale and a share buy-back.

Infant formula business Bubs Australia Ltd (ASX: BUB) shares rose over 32% after agreeing a new agreement in China.

The Lynas Corporation Ltd (ASX: LYC) share price rose 0.2% as it agreed a 10-year extension with JARE.

The share price of Starpharma Holdings Limited (ASX: SPL) rose by 0.7% after providing an update on its VivaGel BV product.

The Aurizon Holdings Ltd (ASX: AZJ) share price fell around 1% in response to today's news.

Finally, the share price of Brainchip Holdings Ltd (ASX: BRN) plunged a painful 19% because of its return from a trading halt for its capital raising at a sizeable discount.
