Scott Phillips is The Motley Fool’s Chief Investment Officer in Australia. He is Advisor of The Fool’s flagship investment service, Motley Fool Share Advisor and the Portfolio Manager of Motley Fool Everlasting Income and Premier Portfolio, as well as running our most premium service, Motley Fool Platinum.

He is passionate about investing, having managed his own portfolio for over 15 years. A dyed-in-the-wool Fool (in the best way), he has been a member of The Motley Fool since 1999.

Scott holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Management) and a Graduate Diploma of Accounting.

Before joining The Fool, Scott worked in various Sales and Finance roles in industry, which has allowed him to see the good, bad and the ugly of corporate management close-up. Giving him a great understanding of the way businesses run – and what separates the business wheat from the chaff – Scott wholeheartedly agrees with Warren Buffett when he said he was a ‘better investor because I am a businessman and a better businessman because I am an investor’.

Scott left a successful career to follow his passion – helping our members achieve the best possible investment returns, and helping Australians learn to better manage their money. It’s no surprise he ended up at The Motley Fool.

Did you know The Motley Fool has a business, finance and podcast, called Motley Fool Money?

Well now you do.

The Motley Fool came to life as a result of our founders' desire to help the world invest better.

And learning how to invest is a long and never ending pursuit. The Motley Fool has been in Australia now for seven years, and we're excited to bring you our Australian business podcast (or finance podcast, or investing podcast, depending on who you ask and how your podcast app categorises us!).

Why a business podcast? Because we know you're busy. We know that commuting, or shopping or mowing the lawn is a great time to listen to a podcast — we do that, too. Though not to our ourselves… that'd just be weird.

Anyway, whether you're just starting out, or a seasoned expert, we can always learn more. And an audio podcast is a great way to do it.

Whether you want to learn about money, personal finance, credit cards, mortgages, property, superannuation (including your SMSF) or investing in ASX shares or US shares, this podcast is for you.

Your hosts are Scott Phillips and Anirban Mahanti. Scott is our Chief Investment Officer and runs our Million Dollar Portfolio, Share Advisor and Everlasting Income services. Anirban is our Director of Research, and helms Extreme Opportunities and Motley Fool Pro. Between them, they have decades of investing experience, and their investing services are beating the market.
