Australia's S&P/ASX 200 (Index: ^AXJO)(ASX: XJO) and ALL ORDINARIES (Index: ^AXAO) (ASX: XAO) indices finished higher on Thursday.

Here's a short recap of the Australian market:

  • S&P/ASX 200 (Index: ^AXJO) (ASX: XJO) higher 0.70% to 6,139.20
  • ALL ORDINARIES (Index: ^AXAO) (ASX: XAO) higher 0.63% to 6,214.60
  • AUD/USD at US 71 cents
  • Gold at US$1,339.38 an ounce
  • Brent Oil at US$67.18 a barrel

The best-performing ASX 200 share today was Webjet Limited (ASX: WEB) which rose 30.6% after the travel agency reported its result.

Fisher & Paykel Healthcare Corp Ltd (ASX: FPH) shares went up after the company said it had ended its legal battle ResMed Inc. (ASX: RMD) which went up 0.4%

The Wesfarmers Ltd (ASX: WES) share price rose around 7% today after announcing a special dividend for shareholders.

Shares of real estate investment trust (REIT) Rural Funds Group (ASX: RFF) climbed 2.8% with it announcing what the FY20 distribution will be.

Nine Entertainment Co Holdings Ltd (ASX: NEC) shares went up 7.2% after the TV and media company result pleased investors.

The Qantas Airways Limited (ASX: QAN) share price rose nearly 2% after announcing more shareholder returns.

Coca-Cola Amatil Ltd (ASX: CCL) shares dropped 1% after reporting more profit declines.

Finally, the Pro Medicus Limited (ASX: PME) share price rose 5% in response to its half year report.
