Once a week, I like to look at ASIC's short position report to find out which ASX shares are being targeted by short sellers.

That's because I believe it is worth keeping a close eye on short interest levels as high levels can sometimes be a sign that something isn't quite right with a company.

With that in mind, listed below are the 10 most shorted shares on the ASX this week according to ASIC.

The top ten most shorted ASX shares

  • DroneShield Ltd (ASX: DRO) has jumped to the top of the table with short interest of 15.1%, which is up again since last week. There are concerns over an ASIC investigation into the counter-drone technology company and increasing competition.
  • 4DMedical Ltd (ASX: 4DX) has seen its short interest ease to 13%. This medical technology company has a sky-high valuation but only recorded revenue of $7.2 million in FY 2026.
  • Domino's Pizza Enterprises Ltd (ASX: DMP) has seen its short interest ease again to 12.4%. Short sellers have been closing positions following an encouraging trading update from the pizza chain operator.
  • Boss Energy Ltd (ASX: BOE) has short interest of 12.2%, which is up week on week. This may be due to fears that this uranium miner's production outlook could weaken materially beyond 2027.
  • Paladin Energy Ltd (ASX: PDN) has 11.7% of its shares held short, which is down week on week. This uranium producer continues to be targeted despite the release of a positive quarterly update.
  • Flight Centre Travel Group Ltd (ASX: FLT) has 11.6% of its shares held short, which is down week on week. This high level of short interest could be due to fears the Middle East conflict could slow the travel agent's growth.
  • Lotus Resources Ltd (ASX: LOT) has seen its short interest fall materially to 11.6%. Short sellers have closed positions after the uranium developer raised funds at a deep discount.
  • Telix Pharmaceuticals Ltd (ASX: TLX) has seen its short interest ease slightly again week on week to 11.5%. It is possible that short sellers believe the radiopharmaceuticals company could continue to struggle gaining US FDA approvals.
  • CAR Group Limited (ASX: CAR) has short interest of 11.5%, which is flat since last week. This auto listings company is releasing its results today. Short sellers appear to believe it could be a poor result.
  • Healius Ltd (ASX: HLS) has short interest of 10.7%, which is down slightly week on week. This healthcare company has been battling weaker volumes.
