Will Flight Centre pay a dividend in 2020?

Up until the first half of 2020, Flight Centre has been paying twice yearly, fully franked dividends every year since late 1997. It has also paid three extraordinary dividends during this period. Flight Centre was scheduled to pay an interim dividend of 40 cents per share on 17 April 2020 however, in an announcement released on 23 March, this payment was cancelled due to the impacts of COVID-19 restrictions.

Also included in this announcement was a request for a short-term suspension of its ASX listing to allow the company sufficient time to plan its response to the pandemic. Since then, Flight Centre has successfully executed a $700 million capital raising to help secure its future. The company typically pays its final dividend around mid-October each year. As at the end of June 2020, no announcements had been made regarding whether or not Flight Centre intends to pay its final dividend.

Does Flight Centre offer a DRP?

No. Flight Centre does not currently offer a dividend reinvestment plan to its shareholders.
