The S&P/ASX 200 Index (Index: ^AXJO) (ASX: XJO) bounced back 0.64% today, after yesterday's heavy losses which saw $24 billion wiped off the local bourse. Today's bounce was spurred on by a rally overnight in US stocks which benefited from strong December retail sales figures, the Dow Jones was up 0.7%, while the S&P 500 gained 1.1%.

- Paladin Energy Ltd. (ASX: PDN) gained 10% to 49.5 cents
- Lynas Corporation Limited (ASX: LYC) climbed 6.6% to 32.5 cents
- Forge Group Limited (ASX: FGE) added 4.9% to $1.07
- CSR Limited (ASX: CSR) rose 4.8% to $2.81
