About CSR Ltd

CSR Limited (CSR) is a building products company that provides a range of products for residential and commercial construction across Australia and New Zealand. CSR is behind several leading brands including Gyprock plasterboard, Bradford insulation, and Monier roof tiles. The company also has an interest in the Tomago aluminium smelter, one of Australasia’s largest aluminium smelters.

The company was founded in the mid-1800s as the Colonial Sugar Refining Company - hence the name CSR. The company went on to diversify its operations into building products and eventually sold off its sugar business in 2009.

CSR’s history on the ASX dates all the way back to 1962. As a supplier of building products, the CSR share price can be linked to the state of the residential and commercial construction markets in Australia and New Zealand.
