WiseTech Global Ltd (ASX: WTC) shares have stepped into the spotlight this year as the company navigates a tech-sector-wide selloff, regulatory pressure, a leadership shakeup, and a brutal share price decline.
The shares were smashed lower in mid-2025, and the downturn continued through 2026 until they hit a five-year low of just $28.76 in late June, as strong headwinds saw many investors turn their backs on the stock.
But just when it looked like hope was lost, WiseTech shares sprang back into life. Over the past month the shares have increased around 38%, and have now climbed around 54% higher since that June low, at the time of writing.
Some are incredibly bullish on Wisetech shares, expecting them to keep storming higher over the next 12 months. Meanwhile, other more bearish experts are concerned that the shares are now well priced but that any hiccup could trigger another huge sell-off.
So I decided to look into both the bull and bear cases for WiseTech shares, and make up my own mind.
Here's what I found.

The bull case for WiseTech shares
WiseTech's CargoWise platform is deeply embedded in the global logistics industry. CargoWise handles everything from complex customs clearances, tax compliance, and cross-border freight tracking to warehouse management and billing.
It's incredibly difficult for companies to replace the CargoWise platform without causing operational chaos, which gives WiseTech some revenue security.
Some headwinds have been dissolved recently too.
In mid-October, the company announced that the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) had closed two investigations involving WiseTech and its personnel, including share-trading investigations into founder Richard White and two current employees.
ASIC issued no-action letters confirming it will not pursue enforcement action against those individuals. The regulator also concluded a separate governance investigation that began in late 2024, confirming that no enforcement action will be taken against WiseTech.
The update has cleared a lot of governance overhang, which has weighed heavily on the company's underlying business and kept the share price depressed over the past 15 months.
I think the easing of these headwinds gives WiseTech shares runway to climb much higher.
And it looks like the company is primed and ready to drive further growth, too.
In August, WiseTech reported an impressive 46% increase in its EBITDA to US$558.4 million for FY26, which came in line with its previous guidance. Total revenue was also up by 79% to US$1,395.9 million, again within guidance.
Looking ahead, WiseTech forecasts total revenue to climb to US$1.48 billion to US$1.54 billion for FY27. That's a 6-10% increase from its FY26 revenue of US$1,395.9 million.
The company is also guiding underlying EBITDA growth between 12% and 21%, with a margin uplift to 49-51%.
Management said it will continue to focus its attention on integrating e2open. It also plans to continue rolling out its new commercial model, accelerate AI-driven product development, and drive margin expansion and debt reduction in FY27.
