Which dates are likely to move the A2 Milk share price in 2025?

The A2 Milk Company Ltd (ASX: A2M) share price is currently sitting at $5.87, down 0.17% at the time of writing.

The ASX consumer staples stock is underperforming the S&P/ASX 200 Index (ASX: XJO) today, which is up 0.04%.

A2 Milk shares rose by 35.7% in 2024, but it was a tumultuous year for the stock.

The A2 Milk share price is still trading well off its 52-week high of $7.37 per share, achieved in late last year.

Important dates for the A2 Milk share price in 2025

The A2 Milk share price is more likely to shift on the days the company announces significant news.

Financial results are obviously a big news item, and with the first earnings season for 2025 just around the corner, we can now tell you when A2 Milk intends to announce all of its financial news this year.

Next month, A2 Milk will release its 1H FY25 results and announce its first dividend ever on 17 February.

A2 Milk announced the establishment of a formal dividend policy last November.

The payout ratio will be between 60% and 80% of net profit after tax (NPAT), excluding non-recurring and other items (normalised NPAT).

The company told investors it expects the interim dividend to be at the bottom end of the payout range.

Chair of the Board, Pip Greenwood said:

The a2 Milk Company has made considerable progress in developing its operating model and creating a more resilient business.

Given this progress and our strong balance sheet position, the Board believes the time is right to introduce a dividend policy that delivers sustainable cash returns to shareholders over time.

The next big financial disclosure likely to impact the A2 Milk share price will be the full-year FY25 results on 18 August.

A2 Milk upgraded its full-year FY25 guidance in November.

The company expects mid-to-high single-digit revenue growth in FY25 compared to FY24, up from the previous guidance of mid-single-digit growth.

The company said its EBITDA margin, as a percentage of revenue, is expected to be broadly in line with FY24. It expects a margin decline in 1H FY25 but an increase in 2H FY25 compared with the prior year.

The next important date for the A2 Milk share price is 20 November, when the company will host its annual general meeting.

Is this ASX consumer staples stock a buy?

The consensus rating on A2 Milk shares among analysts on CommSec is a moderate buy.

Of the 16 analysts rating A2 Milk, four say the stock is a strong buy, and three say it's a moderate buy.

Nine analysts have a hold rating on A2 Milk.

Citi has a buy rating on A2 Milk with a 12-month share price target of $7.15.
