Australia's S&P/ASX 200 (Index: ^AXJO)(ASX: XJO) and ALL ORDINARIES (Index: ^AXAO) (ASX: XAO) indices finished lower on Tuesday.

Here's a short recap of the Australian market:

  • S&P/ASX 200 (Index: ^AXJO) (ASX: XJO) lower 0.09% to 6,184.50
  • ALL ORDINARIES (Index: ^AXAO) (ASX: XAO) lower 0.11% to 6,276.60
  • AUD/USD at US 71 cents
  • Gold at US$1,307.05 an ounce
  • Brent Oil at US$67.63 a barrel

The best-performing ASX 200 share today was aged care operator Estia Health Ltd (ASX: EHE) which rose by 4.4%.

Shares of TPG Telecom Ltd (ASX: TPM) increased in value by 4.4% as well after the telco announced its half-year profit result.

The share price of New Hope Corporation Limited (ASX: NHC) fell 11.8% with the coal miner reporting its half-year result.

The Hub24 Ltd (ASX: HUB) share price dropped another 4.1% today after news came of insider selling yesterday.

InvoCare Limited (ASX: IVC) shares rose by 2.6% with the leading Australian funeral business currently going through a capital raising.

The WiseTech Global Ltd (ASX: WTC) share price was unmoved today because it went into a trading halt to raise capital.

Shares of Sydney Airport Holdings Pty Ltd (ASX: SYD) fell 1.2% with the airport operator suffering from a broker downgrade.

Finally, the Pioneer Credit Ltd (ASX: PNC) share price rose by 1.2% after receiving positive confirmation from Counsel about its accounting of purchased debt portfolios.
