The ASX is higher at midday today after receiving a positive lead from Wall Street overnight and lending finance data released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics which showed a positive trend. Company results released this morning were mixed, however, all sectors of the market are showing gains. At lunchtime the S&P/ASX 200 Index (Index: ^AXJO) (ASX: XJO) was 0.72% higher.

- Sims Metal Management Ltd (ASX: SGM) has jumped 6.2% to $10.64
- Resolute Mining Limited (ASX: RSG) is up 5.7% to 65.5 cents
- Sirius Resources N.L (ASX: SIR) has gained 4.4% to $2.37
- Incitec Pivot Limited (ASX: IPL) has added 3.6% to $3.045
These are the five worst performing stocks at midday today:
- GUD Holdings Limited (ASX: GUD) has declined 4% to $5.94
- Automotive Group Holdings Ltd (ASX: AHE) is down 3.5% to $3.57
- Whitehaven Coal Ltd (ASX: WHC) has lost 2.8% to $1.56
- David Jones Limited (ASX: DJS) has slipped 1.6% to $3.06
- Bradken Limited (ASX: BKN) has dropped 1.3% to $4.55
