Australia's S&P/ASX 200 (Index: ^AXJO)(ASX: XJO) and ALL ORDINARIES (Index: ^AXAO) (ASX: XAO) indices finished higher on Monday.

Here's a short recap of the Australian market:

  • S&P/ASX 200 (Index: ^AXJO) (ASX: XJO) higher 0.97% to 6,467.40
  • ALL ORDINARIES (Index: ^AXAO) (ASX: XAO) higher 1.00% to 6,550.50
  • AUD/USD at US 68 cents
  • Gold at US$1,507.96 an ounce
  • Brent Oil at US$59.32 a barrel

The best-performing ASX 200 share today was the Smartgroup Corporation Ltd (ASX: SIQ) share price which rose by 21% after last week's result.

Another business to see its share price perform well today belonged to Beach Energy Ltd (ASX: BPT), it climbed 11.4% thanks to its released report. 

The Lendlease Group (ASX: LLC) share price went up almost 11% with investors pleased by what they read in the FY19 report.

The share price of Netwealth Group Ltd (ASX: NWL) rose by 3.6% after revealing its FY19 report to investors.

It was a painful day for the shareholders of BlueScope Steel Limited (ASX: BSL), its report sent the share price down by over 8%.

The share price of NIB Holdings Limited (ASX: NHF) fell 6.3% after reporting its result but warning of likely lower profit margins in FY20.

The Altium Limited (ASX: ALU) share price rose 5% in anticipation of the release of the FY19 result.

Finally, the share price of gold miner Saracen Mineral Holdings Limited (ASX: SAR) fell over 5% after reporting.
