The local share market started the day on a positive note but gradually lost its footing, ultimately ending the day in the red.

- Iron Ore at US$83.34 a tonne, according to the Metal Bulletin
- Gold at US$1,216.04 ounce
- Brent oil at US$56.55 a barrel
Mesoblast limited (ASX: MSB) and Tabcorp Holdings Limited (ASX: TAH) were two of the market's biggest movers today, slipping 7.8% and 5.3% each. Tabcorp released its first-half results this morning, revealing a 28% dip in net profit.
Construction project software provider Aconex Ltd (ASX: ACX) also had another poor session, ending the day 2.7% lower.
On a more positive note, Downer EDI Limited (ASX: DOW) soared 13.1% for the day after it revealed a 2.1% lift in first-half revenue and an even greater 8.5% rise in earnings.
Vocus Group Ltd (ASX: VOC) also had a great session, rising 5.3%, while Domino's Pizza Enterprises Ltd. (ASX: DMP) gained 4.9%.
Beadell Resources Ltd (ASX: BDR) rose 9.5% as well following a strong rise in the price of gold. Its fellow gold miners all ended the day mostly higher, too.
