The recent sell-off in the S&P/ASX 200 (INDEXASX: XJO) has led to the index being down 5.5% in the last month. While that is a large move to occur within just one month, of more significance are some individual share price falls which have arguably sent some stocks in to buy territory.

Here are five to consider…

Insurance Australia Group Ltd (ASX: IAG) is a leading insurance group with operations not just in Australia but also in New Zealand and Asia. IAG's stable of well-known brands include NRMA and SGIC.

The stock is trading on a FY 2015 price-to-earnings ratio (PE) and fully franked yield of 12.5x and 6.2% respectively.

Patties Foods Limited (ASX: PFL) is a small company with a market capitalisation of just $184 million, yet it owns some instantly recognisable food brands including four'n'twenty.

The stock is trading on a PE of 10.6x and a fully franked dividend yield of 5.7%.

Myer Holdings Ltd (ASX: MYR) is a company which needs no introduction. Its structural challenges and a tough consumer spending environment have seen its share price sink to a new low.

That's not a pleasant situation for current shareholders, however for prospective investors a forecast PE of 11.9x and fully franked yield of 7.8% could be tempting.

JB Hi-Fi Limited (ASX: JBH) has been an outstanding success story with a store roll-out program that has positioned the firm as a leading electronics retailer.

With the company forecast to continue to grow earnings per share and dividends per share in the coming year, the stock is trading on a PE and fully franked yield of 11.5x and 5.7% respectively.

DWS Ltd (ASX: DWS) is an IT services company with operations across Australia. Like many of its peers, DWS has faced headwinds from clients who have been postponing spending on upgrading their IT systems.

Those buying into DWS today are forecast to be purchasing the stock on a PE of 11.7x and fully franked yield of 7.6%.

The above five stocks could all currently be buying opportunities for a well-diversified portfolio, however there is one stock which not only has an appealing valuation and yield but it also has great prospects that I suggest you discover…
