After a positive early start to the trading day the market has failed to hold on to early gains. The S&P/ASX 200 Index (Index: ^AXJO) (ASX: XJO) is showing gains of just 0.07% at noon today.
It was a reasonably quiet session on Wall Street overnight, with the major indices hovering between positive and negative territory. On the local market all eyes were on companies reporting and data from the ABS which showed that the unemployment jumped more than expected to 6% last month.
