AGL Energy Limited (ASX: AGL)

Shaw and Partners is positive on this energy retailer. The broker has named AGL shares as a buy this week, highlighting its consistent cash flows and attractive dividend yield as reasons to pick up shares. It said:

The power generator has undergone a significant transformation in recent years. It's improved the balance sheet, simplified operations and is positioned to benefit from Australia's ongoing energy transition.

The company continues to generate consistent cash flows, while investing in renewable generation and energy storage initiatives. AGL also offers an attractive dividend yield, providing investors with a combination of income and potential capital growth. The stock presents an appealing opportunity for long term investors.

Hub24 Ltd (ASX: HUB)

Bell Potter is a fan of this investment platform provider and is recommending it as a buy this week.

It was pleased with Hub24's performance in FY 2026 and appears to believe its shares are undervalued based on its medium term growth outlook. The broker explains:

HUB24 operates an investment platform used by financial advisers. Platform net inflows of $4.2 billion in the fourth quarter of 2026 were consistent with the prior corresponding period when excluding large migrations.

Total funds under administration of $164.3 billion at June 30, 2026 was up 20 per cent on the prior corresponding period. Management's medium term growth targets remain intact, supporting the case for upside from here.

Mineral Resources Ltd (ASX: MIN)

Shaw and Partners is also positive on this mining and mining services company. It thinks Mineral Resources shares are a buy due to its high quality asset base and long term growth potential. Commenting on the ASX share, the broker said:

Mineral Resources offers exposure to iron ore and lithium, providing leverage to key commodities which are expected to play an important role in global infrastructure development and electrification.

The company retains a high quality asset base, integrated mining service operations and significant long term growth potential. Its lithium portfolio is positioned to benefit from improving market conditions and increasing production volumes. For investors willing to tolerate cyclical volatility, recent price levels present an attractive risk-reward opportunity.
