The S&P/ASX 200 (Index: ^AXJO) (ASX: XJO) appears set to open flat this morning, although a strong performance by international equity markets overnight could give the local bourse a boost during the day.

Here's a quick recap:

  • FTSE 100 (UK): up 0.7%
  • DAX (Germany): up 1.1%
  • CAC 40 (France): up 0.65%
  • Dow Jones (USA): up 0.33%
  • NASDAQ (USA): up 0.23%

Earnings season will continue to get underway today. Rio Tinto Limited (ASX: RIO) is one company that could receive some attention, with the miner set to release its half-year results.

Meanwhile, BWP Trust (ASX: BWP) released its full-year results, reporting a 2% increase in revenue and a 4% increase in profit (before gains on investment properties). The trust will pay a final distribution of 8.88 cents per unit.

iSentia Group Ltd (ASX: ISD) could receive some more attention today, as well, following yesterday's earnings guidance downgrade – and the share price's subsequent thrashing. The same can be said for Freelancer Ltd (ASX: FLN), whose share price lost nearly a quarter of its value yesterday.

Finally, Webjet Ltd (ASX: WEB) shares could remain in the spotlight today. The Webjet share price has come under heavy fire recently after it was announced the company had had a disagreement with its auditor.
