Best and worst stocks on the ASX at midday

The market is higher at lunchtime today following a positive lead from Wall Street and a strong result from CBA.

A strong rally on Wall Street overnight set a positive tone for the local bourse this morning. At lunchtime the S&P/ASX 200 Index (Index: ^AXJO) (ASX: XJO) was 0.3% higher. Reporting season is in full swing with many companies releasing results today including a record cash profit from Commonwealth Bank of Australia (ASX: CBA).

Here are the top five best performing stocks in the index at midday today:

  • OZ Minerals Limited (ASX: OZL) has rallied 10.9% to $3.77
  • Boral Limited (ASX: BLD) has jumped 8.7% to $5.435
  • Domino's Pizza Enterprises Ltd. (ASX: DMP) has gained 5.4% to $18.05
  • Cochlear Limited (ASX: COH) is up 3.9% to $55.79
  • Computershare Limited (ASX: CPU) has climbed 3.9% to $11.52

These are the five worst performing stocks at midday today:

  • Goodman Fielder Ltd (ASX: GFF) has sunk 6.6% to 63.5 cents
  • Primary Health Care Limited (ASX: PRY) has declined 3.85% to $4.74
  • McMillan Shakespeare Limited (ASX: MMS) has dropped 3.8% to $11.07
  • Mermaid Marine Australia Limited (ASX: MRM) is down 3.8% to $2.77
  • CSL Limited (ASX: CSL) has fallen 3.2% to $67.62
