Why is this ASX 300 healthcare stock charging higher today?
Investors have been buying the medical device company's shares after it announced the launch of two new products.
According to the release, the infection prevention leader is launching trophon3 and trophon2 Plus, a software upgrade package, in Europe, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand.
And while these products are not yet available in the key United States market, the company notes that a regulatory application has been submitted to the US Food & Drugs Administration (FDA) and is currently under review.
Trophon3
The ASX 300 healthcare stock highlights that the new trophon3 product delivers a range of new customer benefits while maintaining the highest standard in clinical efficacy for patient safety.
It notes that the new innovation is over 40% faster than previous generations and has expanded digital integration capabilities. In addition, it offers the widest traceability capabilities in the ultrasound reprocessing market including new digital traceability through customer's DICOM imaging database systems, the international standard for medical imaging data.
Another positive is that it is fully programmable and adaptable. This means trophon3 can be customised to suit a range of customer workflows, which Nanosonics believes enhances efficiency while delivering consistent, reliable disinfection in a safe, effective, and environmentally friendly way.
Management believes trophon3 will further strengthen the ASX 300 healthcare stock's leadership position, while supporting continued expansion of its installed base and driving the upgrade of customers from the first generation trophon EPR units to the latest platform.
Trophon2 software upgrade
Existing customers of Nanosonics' trophon2 product are not being left out.
To extend the value of this innovation to its total customer base, the company is also launching trophon2 Plus.
It is a new software upgrade package that makes all the key new trophon3 features available to existing trophon2 users for upgrade. It is unclear if this is a paid upgrade.
Commenting on the launches, the ASX 300 healthcare stock's CEO and President, Michael Kavanagh, said:
trophon3 and trophon2 Plus set a new benchmark in automated high-level disinfection for ultrasound transducers, upholding the trophon technology's market leadership position. These launches reflect our commitment to innovation, customer support and ongoing expansion in this important area of infection prevention.
