G8 Education usually pays twice-yearly, fully franked dividends in April and October each year. Due to the significant impacts of COVID-19 on its business, however, G8 postponed payment of its CY19 final dividend of 6 cents per share, which was due to be paid on 6 April, until 30 October 2020.
In an announcement on 9 April 2020, G8 Education further advised that, aside from the already deferred CY19 dividend, the company would be temporarily suspending its dividend payments. G8 Education does not expect to pay any dividends for CY20 and any prospective dividends for CY21 will be subject to the company’s financial performance.

About G8 Education Ltd
G8 Education Ltd (GEM) is Australia’s largest provider of early childhood education and care. The company has over 20 early learning brands, from which it operates more than 470 centres across Australia, primarily along the eastern seaboard. Some of G8 Education’s brands include Community Kids, Jellybeans, Penguin Childcare, and Kool Kids.
G8 Education was formed through the merger of formerly ASX-listed Early Learning Services and Payce Child Care in 2010. Over the years, G8 Education shares have had a mixed run on the ASX and the company has become known for its acquisitive, roll-up strategy.
