BHP shares gain on $200 million deal
BHP shares are up 2.2% at the time of writing, changing hands for $61.87 apiece.
This comes amid news that the ASX 200 mining giant has awarded a $200 million contract to engineering company Monadelphous Group Ltd (ASX: MND).
The contract will see Monadelphous take a leading role in the Port Debottlenecking Project 2, located at BHP's Nelson Point Port Facility in Western Australia.
Monadelphous will install and commission all of the structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation activities associated with the construction of the new Car Dumper 6. Work will commence immediately and is expected to be completed in 2028.
"We look forward to working closely with BHP to successfully deliver PDP2 and increase Port capacity," Monadelphous managing director Zoran Bebic said.
Domino's shares in focus amid big leadership transition
Unlike the BHP shares, Domino's shares are flat today.
At the time of writing, shares in the ASX 200 fast-food pizza retailer are trading for $19.92 each, right where they closed yesterday.
Investors look to be weighing up the implications of today's leadership announcement.
Domino's reported that, as of today, Andrew Gregory has commenced as CEO and managing director. The company first revealed the expected changing of the guard on 11 February.
In other leadership news, the company reported that Jack Cowin has returned to his role as non-executive chair.
