What did Santana Minerals report?

  • Quarter-end cash balance of approximately A$188 million
  • Completion of A$130 million equity placement and additional A$4.1 million from Share Purchase Plan
  • New Zealand Overseas Investment Office (OIO) consent granted for 3,680 hectares of freehold land purchase, including buy-back of associated royalties
  • Advancement of Fast-track Approvals (FTA) process, with final consent decision expected by 16 December 2026
  • Exploration results extended mineralisation at Rise & Shine (RAS) and Come-in-Time (CIT) beyond current mine design
  • Project financing activities progressing towards final investment decision (FID)

What else do investors need to know?

Santana Minerals continued to make headway on the Bendigo-Ophir Gold Project, finalising the intensive expert conferencing phase of the FTA process and entering the consent-conditions workshopping stage. The company voluntarily paused the process to provide extra information, slightly extending the decision timeline, but maintained forward momentum.

The OIO approval represents a significant milestone by granting Santana direct ownership of the project's key land parcels and removing royalty encumbrances, greatly enhancing project economics. Additionally, the company has secured workforce accommodation and advanced early infrastructure works, supporting a seamless transition to project construction once all approvals are in place.

Exploration drilling during the quarter delivered encouraging results, with high-grade gold mineralisation now identified in new zones at both RAS and CIT deposits, signalling further growth potential for the broader project beyond the current 14-year mine plan.

What did Santana Minerals management say?

Damian Spring, Exec. Director & CEO, commented:

This quarter saw strong operational execution across approvals, project readiness, and exploration. Our robust cash position ensures we're well placed to advance the Bendigo-Ophir Gold Project while maintaining financial flexibility.

What's next for Santana Minerals?

Looking ahead, Santana Minerals will focus on resuming and completing the FTA process, with assessment set to recommence on 17 August 2026 and all consent conditions to be submitted by late August. A final statutory decision is targeted for 16 December 2026.

The company also aims to finalise lender-ready materials and firm up project financing to enable a final investment decision soon after project approvals. Further exploration and project readiness activities are planned, supporting Santana's objective to establish a major, long-life gold operation in New Zealand.
