Tassal Group Limited (ASX: TGR) is a Tasmanian-based Australian salmon farming company, founded in 1986. Tassal’s operations include hatching, farming, processing, sales and marketing of Atlantic salmon. Tassal offers its products under 4 different brands: Tassal, Superior Gold, Tasmanian Smokehouse and De Costi Seafoods.
Tassal is the largest producer of Tasmanian-grown Atlantic salmon, supplying salmon to both domestic and international markets. Tassal has also recently included prawns in its portfolio. Prawn sales to Coles Group Ltd (ASX: COL) commenced in February 2020, with prawns having a higher $/kg yield when compared to Tassal’s traditional salmon sales.
Tassal shares have been listed on the ASX since 2003, and the Tassal share price has since gone from strength to strength.
