About Waypoint REIT Ltd
Waypoint REIT (ASX: WPR) is a real estate investment trust that owns a $3 billion portfolio of service station properties across all Australian states and mainland territories.
About 80% of its portfolio, by value, is in capital cities and outer metropolitan areas, with about 10% on highways and a similar proportion in small towns. The vast majority of the company's rental income comes from the ASX-listed Viva Energy Group Ltd (ASX: VEA) which owns, operates, and supplies fuel to the Shell and Liberty service station brands in Australia.
Around 90% of the trust's leases are 'triple net', where the tenant pays all property outgoings. The REIT reports a WALE (weighted average lease expiry) of nine years. Management of Waypoint REIT is internal.
