About Cooper Energy Ltd (ASX: COE)

Cooper Energy Ltd (COE) is an ASX energy share which generates revenue from the discovery, commercialisation and sale of gas to south-east Australia, as well as oil production from the Cooper Basin. The company has a growing portfolio of gas supply contracts with leading Australian energy providers, including Origin Energy and AGL Energy Limited (ASX: AGL).

Cooper Energy shares first listed on the ASX in 2002 and have had a somewhat mixed run on the share market to date, peaking in late 2007 only to crash back down to earth in the wake of the GFC. The Cooper Energy share price has clawed back some of these losses since, earning it a place in the S&P/ASX 200 Index (ASX: XJO) in mid-2019.

FAQ

Will Cooper Energy pay a dividend in 2020?

No. Cooper Energy has a current policy of not paying dividends. Due to the company’s size, stage of development and growth aspirations, Cooper Energy’s Directors have advised they believe it prudent to retain cash within the business to fund new ventures. This strategy is based on the premise that, in its current circumstances, greater returns for shareholders can be delivered through share price appreciation than dividend payments.

Does Cooper Energy offer a DRP?

No. Given that Cooper Energy does not currently pay dividends, the company does not operate a dividend reinvestment plan.
