About Accent Group Ltd

Accent Group Ltd (ASX: AX1) was formerly known as RCG Corporation and is a distributor and retailer of sports and fashion footwear. Accent Group operates more than 420 retail stores across Australia and New Zealand which comprise ten well-known brands such as The Althlete’s Foot, Skechers, Hype DC, and Platypus Shoes.

In addition to its retail operations, Accent Group also hold distribution rights in Australia and New Zealand for ten international footwear brands including Dr Martens, Saucony, Cat, Timberland and Vans.

Accent Group operates successful digital infrastructure which saw it well positioned to withstand the economic upheaval resulting from COVID-19 lockdowns. The company reported in June 2020 that online sales across its digital platforms surged 150% between April and June.

When the pandemic first hit, the Accent Group share price fell more than 70% in the space of one month from mid-February to mid-March. Whilst the company’s share price has significantly recovered since then, as at November 2020, it has yet to reach its pre-pandemic highs.
