Air New Zealand Limited (ASX: AIZ) has announced its monthly investor update for May 2018 and the following were notable statistics from the report (compared to May 2017):
- May 2018 total passenger growth of 6%
- Year to date (YTD) total passenger growth of 6%
- May 2018 total revenue passenger kilometre growth of 8.6%
Air New Zealand reaffirmed its FY 2018 outlook at an investor day held in Auckland recently with earnings before tax expected to exceed the prior year despite increases in jet fuel prices.
Higher passenger numbers are not only good for Air New Zealand but also Auckland International Airport Limited (ASX: AIA) which is the largest airport in New Zealand and Spark New Zealand Ltd (ASX: SPK) which is used by tourists visiting the country.
