About Air New Zealand Ltd
Air New Zealand Limited (ASX: AIZ) operates domestic and international services which accommodate approximately 17 million passengers per year. Its operations also encompass extensive global cargo services as well as ground support and engineering services.
Air New Zealand was established in 1940 and celebrated its 80th anniversary in 2020. The company’s strategic focus lies within the Pacific Rim but, through its global alliance partners, it also connects New Zealanders with Europe, the Americas and beyond. Prior to the pandemic, Air New Zealand operated over 3,400 domestic and international flights each week.
Having first listed on the ASX in 1997, Air New Zealand is also dual listed on the New Zealand stock exchange. The Air New Zealand share price has struggled during much of 2020, falling more than 70% between early January and late March. With COVID-19 continuing to devastate the tourism sector throughout the year, as at October 2020, the Air New Zealand share price has only partially recovered from its March low.
