    About Viva Energy Group Ltd

Viva Energy Group Ltd (ASX: VEA) is Australia's second-largest vertically integrated refined transport fuel supplier. The company makes, imports, blends, and delivers about one-quarter of Australia's fuel requirements. It also supplies lubricants, solvents, and bitumen.

As the exclusive Australian licensee of the multinational Shell fuel brand, Viva has a network of around 1,350 Shell and Liberty service stations nationally. As such, the company supplies the third-largest number of retail fuel outlets behind Ampol with approximately 1850 service stations and BP with around 1480 sites.

It also owns the Geelong Refinery in Victoria, the only manufacturer of bitumen, solvents, and avgas in Australia. In 2020, Viva was part of a federal government subsidy scheme to keep Australia's fuel refineries operating in a bid to guarantee national energy security. Viva's Geelong Refinery is now only one of two operating in Australia, along with Ampol's Lytton Refinery in Brisbane.

In 2023, Viva took over the Coles Express convenience retail business at its service station outlets. It is seen as an attempt to reposition the business as electric vehicle take-up increases. Viva is also expanding its Geelong site to include a natural gas import terminal, bringing gas from other parts of the country to meet demand in southeast Australia. As well, Viva is exploring alternative fuel technologies, pursuing hydrogen and solar projects.
