About Sims Ltd
Sims Ltd (ASX: SGM) is a global leader in metal and electronics recycling. Starting as an Australian operation, Sims acquired the US company Metal Management in 2008 and is now one of the largest publicly-listed metals and electronics recyclers in the world.
The company operates through five segments: North America Metal, Australia/New Zealand Metal, an investment in SA Recycling (a US joint venture with more than 140 facilities across 15 states), Sims Lifecycle Services (which recycles electronic waste globally), and Global Trading Operations.
Sims buys, processes, and sells ferrous and non-ferrous metals to manufacturers in around 30 countries. The majority of the company's earnings now come from its North American operations and its SA Recycling investment.
