About Sandfire Resources Ltd

Sandfire is a copper-focused mineral exploration and development company. The principal asset is the DeGrussa copper project discovered in 2009 and located 900 kilometres northeast of Perth in the Bryah Basin. Production is over 60,000 tonnes of copper per year with cash cost around USD 1.00 per pound, better than the industry average. Reserve life is only less than five years. Sandfire is also seeking to develop the Black Butte copper mine in Montana but needs to negotiatea challenging approvals process. The acquisition of MOD Resources in 2019 brings exposure to the T3 development, expected to produce 28,000 tonnes of copper a year from 2021.

Mr Hallam has more than 40 years Australian and international resource industry experience. His operating and corporate experience is across a range of commodities (iron ore, bauxite, alumina, aluminium, gold, silver, copper, zinc and lead) and includes both surface and underground mining. He has global experience stemming from his executive roles across multiple cultural, regulatory and business environments. His former executive roles include Director - Operations with Fortescue Metals Group, Executive General Manager - Development & Projects with Newcrest Mining Ltd, Director -Victorian Operations with Alcoa and Executive General Manager - Base and Precious Metals with North Ltd; and also, mine management/development roles for Battle Mountain Gold Company in Chile, Bolivia and Australia. In these and previous roles Mr Hallam has held site and corporate accountability for all site functions plus sales and marketing, stakeholder management, capital projects and regulatory oversite and management for multiple mining operations. He has held Australian and international non-executive director roles since 1997. He is a qualified mining engineer and holds a BE (Hons) from Melbourne University and a Certificate of Mineral University and a Certificate of Mineral Economics from Curtin University. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Australasian Institute of Mining & Metallurg. Ms Morris is a non-executive director of ASX-listed iron ore producer Fortescue Metals Group Ltd (ASX: FMG) and a Commissioner of the Australian Sports Commission. She is a former partner of global professional services firm Deloitte where her career spanned more than 10 years working across the mining, government and transport sectors. She was also previously a Senior Marketing Analyst for Rio Tinto Iron Ore. Her experience includes advising government entities and corporations on strategy development, governance controls, business transformation, the embedding of environment, social and governance related policies, the development of leadership and understanding of high-performance environments. Ms Morris is a member of the Vice Chancellor's List, Curtin University. Prior to her business career, she was a member of the Australian Women's Hockey Team which won Olympic gold medals at both Atlanta in 1996 and Sydney in 2000. In 1997, she was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM). Ms Morris will be a member of Sandfire's Risk Committee and People and Performance Committee.
Dr Roric Smith Non-Executive Director Dec 2016
Dr Smith is experienced geologist with extensive Australian and international experience. Until June 2016, Dr Smith was Vice President, Discovery and Chief Geologist for Evolution Mining Ltd, where he played a key role in leading that company's exploration and mining efforts from implementation through to execution. Prior to joining Evolution, Dr Smith held numerous global senior executive positions with AngloGold Ashanti, including as Senior Vice President, Global Greenfield Exploration; Country Manager and Chief Representative China; Exploration Manager - North Asia Region; and Chief Geologist Australia. Dr Smith holds a B.Sc (Hons) Geology and Ph.D from the University of Natal in South Africa.

Ms Langer has 25 years' experience in Professional Services including as founder and Managing Partner of the management consulting and executive recruitment firm Derwent Executive, where she set up and led the Perth office servicing a range of clients both local and nationally and led the Mining and Industrial Practice. Prior to that, she was a Director at international recruitment firm Michael Page and a Chartered Accountant at accounting and consulting firm Arthur Andersen. She has been an advisor to numerous Boards on recruitment, talent management, culture and organisational structure.
