About South32 Ltd
South32 Ltd (ASX: S32) is a global company that mines and produces commodities, including bauxite, aluminium, copper, silver, lead, zinc, nickel, manganese and metallurgical coal. South32 is headquartered in Perth and has operations in ten countries and employs around 9000 people.
The company extracts and processes minerals and metals for use in construction, energy and renewables, the automotive industry, and consumer goods. South32 was spun out of BHP Group Ltd (ASX: BHP) in 2015 when the iron ore giant – then known as BHP Billiton - demerged some of its assets.
