Mr Summerhayes spent seven years at Bain & Company advising corporates on a mix of strategy, Mergers and Acquisitions ,and operational improvement projects. He was based in London, Munich and Sydney. He led assignments for leading European players in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods, financial services, telecoms, healthcare and industrial sectors. In 1996 he cofounded SB Capital Partners, a private equity partnership, which was backed by Bain Capital, one of the leading US private equity firms. He assisted a wealthy Norwegian family build its own portfolio of private equity investments in both early and late stage situations and private equity funds. In 2001 he joined Smedvig Capital full time and as a Managing Director was one of the senior executives responsible for investing, managing and reporting on a diversified $350 million private equity portfolio. He moved to Sydney in 2005 to join Pemba Capital Partners and co led the spin out of the captive fund from Pemba in 2009. More recently has co led a $650 million and a $400 million fundraising which has established the firm as one of the leaders in its segment in Australia and NZ.
