The company, formerly Macquarie Telecom, was founded in 1992 amid the deregulation of Australia's telecommunications sector, targetting the needs of larger organisations.

    Today, Macquarie Technology Group credits its $200m investment in Tier III data centres in Sydney and Canberra with meeting both the corporate and government sectors' critical IT needs.
