Mr Hood has had a career in the Australian Mining and Chemical Industries. He held the position of Production Engineer at the Kwinana Nickel Refinery from 1971 to 1981, then Mill Superintendent of the WMC Kambalda Nickel and Gold Operations between 1982 to 1985. In 1985, he started serving for Coogee Chemicals Pty Ltd in the position of General Manager and then as their CEO between 1998 and 2005. He then held the position of CEO of Coogee Resources Ltd. Through that period he was part of the management team that oversaw growth in Coogee Chemicals. He is a Director of Cue Energy Resources Limited, GR Engineering Limited and Matrix Composites and Engineering Limited. He is a Member of the Risk Committee.
