    About Brickworks

Brickworks Ltd (ASX: BKW) is one of the world's largest and most diverse manufacturers of building products. The company was founded in 1934 by a group of Sydney brick manufacturers in a bid to survive the Great Depression.

Over the years, Brickworks has diversified into other building products including roof tiles, pavers, and precast concrete panels and established itself as a market leader in Australia. It also holds a 26% interest in publically listed investment company Washington H. Soul Pattinson and Co Ltd (ASX: SOL).

The company has enhanced shareholder value via the sale of surplus industrial land or by transferring it to its industrial real estate trust joint venture with the Goodman Group (ASX: GMG).

In recent years, Brickworks has made targeted acquisitions in the US bricks and building products markets aimed at consolidating a fragmented industry. It is now one of the largest masonry suppliers in the US.
