About Blackmores
Blackmores Ltd (ASX: BKL) is an Australian vitamin and health supplement manufacturer.
The company was founded by Maurice Blackmore who opened Australia's first health food shop in Brisbane in 1932. Blackmores is now Australia's leading name in vitamin brands by market share.
Overseas sales contribute a significant amount to the company's earnings, particularly from Southeast Asia where Blackmores products are sold in 13 markets.
At its peak in 2018, around one-third of Blackmore's operating profit came from the Chinese market via both formal (cross-border e-commerce) and informal (daigou) sales channels. This revenue source has since dropped. In 2022, the company began selling its products in India.
Blackmores Ltd (ASX: BKL) was delisted from the ASX on 11th Aug 2023.
