About Arena REIT

Arena REIT No 1 (ASX: ARF) is an Australian real estate investment trust (REIT). It listed on the ASX in 2013 and is part of the S&P/ASX 300 Index (ASX: XKO). Arena REIT predominantly invests childcare, healthcare and government tenanted properties. It aims to maintain a well diversified portfolio by sector, location, and tenant.

As at June 2020, Arena REIT’s portfolio consisted of 239 properties with a value of $914 million. The weighted average lease expiry (WALE) of the fund’s properties at the same time was 14 years. As part of its investment strategy, Arena owns, develops and manages social infrastructure property in Australia.

Prior to the February/March 2020 market crash, the Arena REIT share price was trading at all-time highs. The REIT’s share price was hit hard by the pandemic, however, falling nearly 60% between late February and late March. Whilst the ARF share price went on to recover much of these losses, as at October 2020, it had failed to reach its pre-pandemic highs.
