About AMA Group Ltd
AMA Group Ltd (ASX: AMA) is a Queensland-based company involved in automotive smash repair, aftermarket care and parts supply. AMA’s services are provided to insurers and other large organisations, as well as consumers, across Australia. The company’s services encompass repairs, automotive parts and accessories, component remanufacturing, and fleet management and maintenance. It operates under the AMA brand as well as the Capital S.M.A.R.T Repairs brand.
AMA employs more than 4,000 people across over 200 locations nation-wide. It performs around 300,000 repairs each year and generates annual revenue of more than $1 billion. According to the company, it “is renowned as the leading repairer in the industry”.
AMA listed on the ASX in 2006. The AMA share price was hit particularly hard by the coronavirus pandemic and associated lockdowns since fewer people using the roads resulted in less demand for vehicle repairs. Between late January and late March 2020, the AMA share price fell by around 85%. Whilst it went on to make a partial recovery, as at October 2020, the AMA share price had yet to reach its pre-pandemic highs.
