About Ainsworth Game Technology Ltd
Ainsworth Game Technology Limited (ASX: AGI) is involved with the development, manufacture, sale and maintenance of gaming machines, or ‘pokies’ as they are commonly known in Australia. With its corporate headquarters in Sydney, Ainsworth also has operations across New Zealand, the United States, Europe and Asia.
Established in 1995 by founder, Len Ainsworth, the company’s mission is to provide high quality gaming machines globally whilst delivering growth and profitability for its shareholders. Ainsworth manages all facets of its product’s life cycle from conceptualisation and design through to production, distribution, installation, service and support.
In 2016, Ainsworth opened a vast new design and manufacturing facility in Las Vegas which is home to a team of more than 200 programmers, developers, engineers and graphic artists. In addition to its physical gaming machines, the company also operates within the online gaming and ‘real money’ digital gambling markets.
Ainsworth shares listed on the ASX in 2001 and reached as high as $4.79 in late 2013. Since then, the Ainsworth share price has largely trended down, trading under $1 prior to the February/March 2020 crash. Following the pandemic led sell off and the closure of gaming outlets around the world, the Ainsworth share price has continued to struggle, trading under 50 cents per share as at September 2020.
