About 88 Energy Ltd
88 Energy Ltd (ASX: 88E) is an oil and gas company based in Australia. Formerly Tangiers Petroleum Limited, its business involves exploring potential oil and natural gas and then processing the acquired crude reserves. 88 Energy has oil and gas assets in North America and Australia with major exploration operations currently focussed on projects Icewine and Peregrine in Alaska. The company’s other significant prospective project areas are Yukon Leases and the Umiat oil field.
After flatlining below 1 cent apiece for most of 2020, the 88 Energy share price surged to a short-lived 9.6 cent high in April 2021 off the back of Peregrine drilling results. Shares in the company traded between 2-3 cents for the remainder of FY21.
