United Malt Group Ltd (ASX: UMG) is the world’s fourth largest independent commercial maltster. It operates 13 processing plants across Canada, the United States, Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
With approximately 1.25Mtpa of malting capacity, the company produces, sells and distributes bagged malt, hops, yeast, adjuncts and related products to major brewers, craft brewers, distillers and food companies.
United Malt was spun off from Graincorp Ltd in March 2020. The United Malt share price opened at $4.10 amid the COVID-19 March market crash and has weathered the tumultuous year of 2020, trading at a price of $4.28 in mid-October.

He has held a variety of global leadership roles for a broad range of CHS agricultural inputs and marketing areas, retail businesses, and grain based food and food ingredients operations. Mr Palmquist is currently a director of Telesense, Inc (September 2020) and is a former director of GrainCorp Limited (from October 2014 until March 2020).
