About Stockland
Stockland (ASX: SGP) is a diversified property development company. The company is one of Australia's largest residential land and housing developers. This business segment generates about a third of the group's funds from operations. Nearly two-thirds comes from commercial property, mostly retail. It also has a land-lease business although the company's business mix is evolving.
Earnings from its residential development division can be volatile. In its commercial property segment, the group is trimming retail and adding office and industrial/logistics properties via acquisitions and developments. In 2022, Stockland divested its Retirement Living business to EQT Infrastructure.
Stockland-stapled securities comprise one share in the corporation that largely operates developments and one unit in a trust that holds the property portfolio.
