Platinum Asset Management Ltd (ASX: PTM) is a non-operating holding company of Platinum Investment Management Limited (PIML).
An Australia-based investment manager, Platinum focuses on one asset class – international shares – building client wealth through portfolios of listed companies from around the world.
The company follows a contrarian, long-term investing philosophy that looks beyond short-term market turbulence to seek out ‘unfashionable’ companies whose actual worth is greater than the value implied in their present share price.
In recent years, the Platinum share price has dropped dramatically from a peak of $8.31 in early 2018 to be trading at $3.31 in September 2020.
