About Australian United Investment Company Ltd (ASX: AUI)

Australian United Investment Company Ltd (ASX: AUI) is a Melbourne-based listed investment company (LIC). It invests largely in S&P/ASX 50 Index (ASX: XFL) shares with some of its biggest holdings including blue chip companies such as the big four banks. Other major holdings include the likes of CSL Limited (ASX: CSL), Transurban Group (ASX: TCL), BHP Group Ltd (ASX: BHP) and Wesfarmers Ltd (ASX: WES).

The aim of the Australian United Investment Company is to maintain a diversified portfolio which provides both income and capital growth to its shareholders over the long term. The company was established in 1953 by Sir Ian Potter. The Ian Potter Foundation remains the company’s biggest single shareholder today.

The Australian United Investment share price first listed on the ASX in 1974.
