Now that we're starting to talk more specifically about choosing shares, there's some common terms worth learning. These can help you define your own investing style, and better understand the share market.

One of these terms is 'blue chip' shares. These are the biggest and best companies on the market, typically leaders in their industries. Because of their size and history of performance, they're considered less risky, so they can often be great companies for new investors to buy.
