Afterpay Ltd (ASX: APT) is an Australian incorporated technology company that makes up one of the ASX’s highly sought-after WAAAX tech stocks.
A pioneer of buy now, pay later technology, Afterpay delivers an innovative payment platform that enables consumers to purchase and receive goods and spread the cost of their purchase out over equal payments, without having to pay interest.
Founded in 2015 and listed in 2017, the Afterpay share price has skyrocketed in the ensuing years. The company has recently expanded into the United States and United Kingdom markets and currently has around 4.3 million active customers and approximately 30,600 active retail merchants.
