Scandium is a metal few investors know well.

But despite its low profile, it is abundant in the Earth's crust.

The challenge lies not in its presence but in finding deposits large and rich enough to be mined economically.

In essence, primary scandium mines are virtually non-existent.

Most of the world's production is generated in small volumes as a by-product of other metals like nickel or uranium, or through the reprocessing of waste.

That said, Australia stands out with one of the highest concentrations of scandium globally.

In particular, New South Wales is believed to be the only location where scandium could potentially be mined as a primary commodity.

At the forefront of this opportunity is a little-known ASX mining stock aiming to transform from an aspiring explorer into a major producer of this strategic metal.

That company is Sunrise Energy Metals Ltd (ASX: SRL), and its shares have been booming.

Tell me more

Scandium is classified as a rare earth element.

It is one of the most effective minerals in strengthening aluminium, whilst also offering improved flexibility and resistance to heat and corrosion.

Such traits make scandium desirable in high-performance aluminium alloys that need to be light, strong, and heat-resistant.

As a result, it is used across various industries, including aerospace, automotive manufacturing, heat exchangers, sporting goods, 3D printing, and energy transmission.

Scandium oxide also plays a key role in improving the performance of solid oxide fuel cells, used as clean energy sources for buildings, medical facilities, and data centres.

According to Sunrise Energy, more than 90% of the world's scandium demand comes from civilian and defence applications in the US.

However, China currently dominates supply, accounting for over 80% of production and effectively all the world's refining capacity.

And earlier this year, Beijing introduced export controls on scandium and other rare earth elements, fundamentally reshaping the global market.

These measures heightened supply concerns across the US and other Western nations, turning attention towards alternate supply chains.

Strategic project

Sunrise Energy believes its Syerston project in New South Wales hosts one of the world's largest and highest-grade scandium resources.

If developed, the project could become a new source of low-cost, scalable, and reliable scandium for Western markets.

The group plans to build a stand-alone mine and processing plant at Syerston, capable of supplying scandium for 5G and 6G semiconductor chips, fuel cells, and both civilian and military aluminium alloys.

So far, a 32-year mine life has been estimated for the project.

An updated feasibility study gauging the development potential is expected early next year.

Sunrise Energy has already secured several key permits and approvals for developing the project.

The ASX mining stock aims to start construction of the mine by mid-2026.

Share price momentum for this unique ASX mining stock

Investor enthusiasm around the potential development of Syerston appears to be reflected in the spectacular performance of Sunrise Energy shares.

At the start of 2025, shares in this ASX mining stock were changing hands at $0.23 apiece.

By Monday's close, its shares had surged to $7.41 apiece.

This represents a 3,122% gain for shareholders in this ASX mining stock since the start of the year.

For context, the S&P/ASX All Ordinaries Index (ASX: XAO) has risen by about 6.7% across the same timeframe.

Silver hit an all-time high this week after bulldozing its way through US$80 per ounce.

Remarkably, the price of the metal has now surged by nearly to 190% since the start of the year.

It has also handsomely outperformed gold.

For comparison, the gold price has delivered strong gains of its own, climbing by approximately 73% in 2025.

Not surprisingly, both metals have left the broader market firmly in their wake.

For context, the S&P/ASX All Ordinaries Index (ASX: XAO) has risen by about 6.8% during the same timeframe.

Despite this powerful rally, investors seeking exposure to silver have a limited number of ASX mining stocks to consider.

The silver conundrum for investors in ASX mining stocks

In essence, there are no dedicated silver mining stocks in the ASX 200.

This is a major difference to gold which offers a string of options.

These include ASX 200 stalwarts like Northern Star Resources Ltd (ASX: NST), Newmont Corporation CDI (ASX: NEM), and Evolution Mining Ltd (ASX: EVN).

However, one of the few practical choices for exposure to silver is the Global X Physical Silver Structured (ASX: ETPMAG) exchange-traded fund (ETF).

This ASX ETF is designed to generate returns that mirror the silver price in Australian dollars, minus fees and expenses.

Overall, shares in this ASX ETF are up by 145% since the start of the year, trading at $107.00 each at the time of writing.

However, the ASX is also home to several exploration companies moving their silver projects towards production.

Below, we introduce three little-known ASX mining stocks advancing their respective projects and riding this year's silver price explosion.

Andean Silver Ltd (ASX: ASL)

Andean Silver is progressing its Cerro Bayo silver and gold project in Chile towards mining.

So far, the ASX mining stock has defined a resource containing 47 million ounces of silver and 800,000 ounces of gold.

Current work is focused on expanding the resource through extension and exploration drilling, with recent results hinting at the project's upside potential.

Earlier this month, the company reported "outstanding" silver and gold intersections at Cerro Bayo, extending the known mineralisation beyond the current resource.

Since the start of the year, Andean shares have surged by 207% to reach $2.58 per share at the time of writing.

Sun Silver Limited (ASX: SS1)

Sun Silver is advancing its Maverick Springs silver and gold project in the US state of Nevada.

The ASX mining stock believes Maverick Springs is the largest undeveloped primary silver project on the ASX.

It hosts a resource containing 347 million ounces of silver and 2.2 million ounces of gold.

Management also noted that the mineralised system at Maverick Springs remains open in all directions, potentially paving the way for further growth.

Shares in Sun Silver haven rocketed by 210% so far this year, climbing to $1.99 apiece at the time of writing.

Unico Silver Ltd (ASX: USL)

Unico Silver is progressing two silver and gold projects in Argentina: Cerro Leon and Joaquin.

So far, it has defined a resource containing 232 million ounces of silver equivalent across both projects.

However, the ASX mining stock aims to grow this number beyond 300 million ounces through an ongoing exploration drilling campaign.

Its efforts will likely be aided by a significant cash injection announced last month.

In a nutshell, Unico pocketed $50 million from an institutional placement and share purchase plan to fast-track its growth strategy.

At the time of writing, shares in this ASX mining stock are changing hands at $0.90 per share.

They have now rocketed by 350% since the start of the year.

In the world of commodities, 2025 has been dominated by a relentless surge in the gold price.

So far this year, bullion has delivered more than 50 new all-time highs, adding another record this week after smashing through US$4,500 an ounce.

Overall, the gold price has now climbed by about 73% since the start of January.

Not surprisingly, it has comfortably outpaced the broader market with the All Ordinaries Index (ASX: XAO) up by 7% during the same period.

In turn, leading ASX 200 gold miners have been major beneficiaries from the price surge.

For example, shares in the world's biggest gold producer Newmont Corporation CDI (ASX: NEM) have soared by more than 160% since early January.

Fellow gold mining heavyweight Evolution Mining Ltd (ASX: EVN) has also delivered similar gains.

However, despite dominating headlines, gold has not been the top-performing metal in 2025.

In fact, two other precious metals have handsomely outpaced the gold price since the start of January.

Below, we take a closer look at these surging metals and how ASX investors could potentially gain exposure through exchange traded funds (ETFs).

Platinum

Platinum is a rare metal best known for its use in jewellery.

However, its unique physical and chemical characteristics also play a key role in industrial sectors, including medical, electronic, automobile, defence, and aerospace.

Notably, 2025 marks the third year in a row where the platinum market has been in a supply deficit.

Against this backdrop, the platinum price has surged by about 180% since the start of January to more than US$2,500 an ounce.

However, investors seeking exposure to this rally have limited options on the ASX.

One practical solution could be the Global X Physical Platinum Structured (ASX: ETPMPT) ETF.

This ASX ETF is designed to generate returns that correspond with the platinum price, excluding fees and expenses.

Its shares have rocketed by 150% in 2025, reaching $339.99 apiece at the time of writing.

Silver

Silver is typically known for its use in jewellery, coins, and as bullion stored in vaults.

But this narrative is rapidly changing.

Silver also boasts superior electrical and thermal conductivity, making the metal an important component in solar panels, electric vehicles, and consumer electronics.

Since the start of the year, the silver price has climbed by about 188%, reaching new all-time highs just this week after breaking through US$80 per ounce.

Like with platinum, one avenue for exposure to the soaring silver price is through an ASX ETF, namely the Global X Physical Silver Structured (ASX: ETPMAG) ETF.

This ASX ETF aims to generate returns that mirror the silver spot price in Australian dollars, minus the fees.

Shares in this ASX ETF are changing hands at $110.22 apiece at the time of writing, up by 153% just this year.

The copper price surged to a new all-time high on Tuesday, breaking above US$12,000 per tonne on the London Metal Exchange for the first time on record.

In total, the red metal has now rallied by almost 40% since the start of the year.

Not surprisingly, this powerful performance has outpaced the broader market, with the All Ordinaries Index up by 7% across the same period.

The latest leg higher appears to have been sparked by concerns over potential US copper tariffs.

Reports suggest this setting has triggered a rush of imports into the US, creating supply tightness amongst offshore manufacturers.

However, copper's longer-term outlook also appears highly constructive, underpinned by both traditional and emerging applications.

Modern-day metal

Copper plays a key role in the global energy transition thanks to its use in electric vehicles (EVs) and associated charging infrastructure.

It is also a critical component in AI data centres due to its conductivity and efficiency in power distribution and cooling.

According to BloombergNEF, such trends could push copper into a structural supply deficit as early as 2026, as electrification-driven demand outpaces new mine supply.

The research firm believes copper is facing the most acute pressure amongst all transition metals.

This stems from rapid growth in data centres, grid expansion, and EV adoption worldwide.

Overall, BloombergNEF estimates that energy-transition demand for copper could triple by 2045, pushing the market deeper into deficit unless investment into new supply ramps up.

And leading ASX 200 mining stocks appear to be taking notice.

In recent years, several of Australia's largest mining companies have been actively increasing their exposure to copper.

Below, we present three ASX 200 mining stocks with a growing emphasis on copper.

BHP Group Ltd (ASX: BHP)

BHP is one of the world's biggest diversified miners, best known for its iron ore and metallurgical coal production to support global steelmaking.

However, through a series of acquisitions and expansions, the company has significantly increased its exposure to copper in recent years.

Today, this ASX 200 mining stock is considered the world's largest copper producer.

In FY25, BHP produced two million tonnes of copper from its portfolio of assets in Chile, Peru, South Australia, and Arizona.

Copper has also become a key earnings driver, accounting for 45% of the group's underlying operating earnings (EBITDA) during the year.

In the past six months, BHP shares have jumped by 25% to $45.59 apiece at the time of writing.

They are trading near 52-week highs on Wednesday morning.

South32 Ltd (ASX: S32)

South32 is a diversified mining company producing a suite of commodities across three geographical regions: Australia, South America, and Southern Africa.

Its operations include the production of bauxite, aluminium products, nickel, zinc, lead, silver, metallurgical coal, and manganese.

And then there's copper.

In 2022, South32 acquired a 45% interest in the Sierra Gorda mine in Chile, which is now helping to drive copper output for the company.

The project already boasts a mine life of more than 20 years, with potential for further upside through improved production efficiency, resource expansion, and exploration.

In FY25, copper production from Sierra Gorda grew by 20% from the previous year.

Separately, South32 has also been growing its pipeline of copper exploration opportunities.

In FY25, the group expanded its strategic alliance with Noronex Ltd (ASX: NRX) to explore for copper in Namibia and Botswana.

It also acquired a 19.9% stake in American Eagle Gold Corp and its NAK copper and gold project in Canada.

South32 shares have jumped by 21% over the past six months.

Fortescue Ltd (ASX: FMG)

Fortescue is renowned for its iron ore empire in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

However, behind the scenes, the company has been growing its exposure to critical minerals, with a particular focus on copper.

Earlier this month, Fortescue moved to broaden its exposure to copper by agreeing to acquire the remaining 64% of Toronto-listed Alta Copper Corp (TSX: ATCU).

The $151 million deal will now give Fortescue control of the Canariaco copper project in Peru.

A recent economic evaluation of Canariaco forecasts annual production to average 134,000 tonnes of copper across a 27-year mine life.

Fortescue shares have lifted by 46% since the tail end of June.

2025 has been a spectacular year for some commodities.

For example, the gold price has jumped by about 70% since early January to reach a new record high on Monday.

Take Newmont Corporation CDI (ASX: NEM) and Evolution Mining Ltd (ASX: EVN).

Shares in both companies are up by more than 160% so far this year.

But gold isn't the only metal breaking new ground.

Silver and copper pushed to record highs at the start of this week, whilst lithium has also posted strong gains in recent months.

Such favourable pricing environments help boost the earnings prospects of mining companies and drive strength across the sector.

And broadly speaking, mining stocks have enjoyed a powerful and wide-ranging rally in 2025.

The four exchange traded funds (ETFs) presented below help paint a picture of how strong this momentum has been.

In essence, each of the following mining-related ETFs just hit a new record high.

VanEck Australian Resources ETF (ASX: MVR)

Today, shares in this ASX ETF reached their highest level since the fund's inception in 2013.

They have now risen by 37% since the start of the year, changing hands at $43.83 per share at the time of writing.

However, it holds positions in some renowned ASX 200 gold producers such as Newmont and Evolution.

They are now up by 150% since the start of the year.

Today, shares in this ASX ETF also reached their highest level since the fund's inception in 2022.

They have now risen by 98% in 2025, climbing to $14.68 each at the time of writing.

Gold has delivered a stunning performance in 2025.

The precious metal started the year trading at about US$2,600 per ounce.

Since then, the gold price has reached new records on more than 50 occasions, including a fresh all-time high on Monday.

Overall, bullion prices have now shot up by close to 70% since early January, climbing to more than US$4,440 per ounce at the time of writing.

This compares with a 6.77% gain for the All Ordinaries Index (ASX: XAO) across the same period.

Not only that, but several major investment banks believe the rally may still have further to run in 2026.

For example, Goldman Sachs Group Inc (NYSE: GS) has set a year-end 2026 gold price target of US$4,900 per ounce.

In addition, analysts at the American bank believe that further "significant upside" to this forecast is possible.

Similarly, analysts at JPMorgan Chase & Co (NYSE: JPM) and Bank of America Corp (NYSE: BAC) believe bullion could hit US$5,000 per ounce in 2026.

This bullish outlook has already proven a windfall for several ASX 200 mining stocks with gold production central to their operations.

Below, we present three such ASX 200 mining stocks that have been riding the gravy train in 2025 as the gold price exploded.

More specifically, the companies below have already seen their respective share prices more than double since the start of January.

Newmont Corporation CDI (ASX: NEM)

As the world's biggest gold producer, Newmont needs little introduction.

The company operates a vast portfolio of gold mines scattered across Africa, Australia, Latin America, North America, and Papua New Guinea.Â

This ASX 200 mining stock produced more than 3.3 million ounces of the precious yellow metal just in the first half of 2025.

So far this year, Newmont shares have rocketed by 161%.

Evolution Mining Ltd (ASX: EVN)

Evolution Mining has delivered an even stronger performance.

The company is an established gold and copper producer with six mines across Australia and Canada.

Overall, it churned out 751,000 ounces of gold in FY25.

Shares in this ASX 200 mining stock have ballooned by 167% since early January.

Genesis Minerals Ltd (ASX: GMD)

The standout performer in 2025, however, has been Genesis Minerals.

The company operates several gold mines in Western Australia's Leonora District, which collectively produced more than 210,000 ounces of gold in FY25.

However, the group expects output of between 260,000 and 290,000 ounces in FY26.

Genesis shares have soared by 192% since the start of the year.

Investors with an eye for lithium are likely familiar with Pilbara Minerals Ltd (ASX: PLS).

This ASX 200 mining stock operates the globally renowned Pilgangoora mine in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

However, a lesser-known ASX lithium stock also been quietly building momentum in the same geological terrane.

More specifically, Wildcat Resources Ltd (ASX: WC8) has recently entered the radar after delivering a series of notable milestones at its Tabba Tabba lithium project.

And Sydney-based investment firm Shaw and Partners is paying attention.

Budding ASX lithium stock

Wildcat's Tabba Tabba project lies some 50 kilometres from Pilbara Minerals' Pilgangoora mine.

Since acquiring the project in 2023, Wildcat has defined a 74 million tonne resource grading 1.0% lithium (Li2O).

And a recent pre-feasibility study (PFS) outlined an initial 17-year mine life and forecast $3.2 billion in free cash flow after tax.

In addition, exploration success at the nearby Bolt Cutter project appears to have strengthened Wildcat's growth profile.

Here, drilling revealed a series of encouraging lithium intercepts with 17 of 20 holes returning significant results.

This operational progress has not gone unnoticed by the market.

In the past six months alone, shares in this ASX lithium stock have bolted by 162% to $0.34 apiece at the time of writing.

For context, the S&P/ASX All Ordinaries Index (ASX: XAO) has risen by 3.18% across the same period.

But this powerful rally could just be getting started, according to Shaw and Partners.

"World-class" lithium project

In a research note released last week, Shaw and Partners summarised Wildcat's plans to fast-track the "world-class" Tabba Tabba towards production.

Here, the broker noted that the thick mineralisation at the project could facilitate a long-life mining operation, with its location also flagged as a major strategic advantage.

Tabba Tabba lies about 80 kilometres from Port Hedland, offering the potential for highly competitive transport costs compared to peers.

Access to the Pilbara region's established infrastructure and skilled workforce may further enhance the project's commercial appeal.

Shaw and Partners also believes that Wildcat's development timeline could align with a broader recovery in the lithium market.

It stated:

Wildcat is moving quickly toward production, having made its major discovery on already granted mining leases. This unusual status, combined with a signed Native Title Agreement, significantly truncates the regulatory and permitting timeline, allowing the company to target first production by FY28. This will allow Wildcat to capitalise on the current recovery in lithium prices as the market moves back into a period of structural tightness.

The broker pointed to an "overwhelmingly bullish" outlook for lithium demand, driven by EV adoption, increased power requirements in AI data centres, and growth in utility-scale energy storage systems.

It added:

As the market establishes an upward price trajectory following the 2023 cyclical slump, high-quality, high-grade developers such as Wildcat are well-positioned to benefit from this shift.

Share price in focus

Shaw and Partners initiated coverage with a buy rating on Wildcat, setting a target price of $0.70 per share for this ASX lithium stock.

This implies 106% upside potential from $0.34 per share at the time of writing.

The price of lithium has experienced a resurgence in recent months, with demand growth, inventory reduction, and regulatory tightening helping to fuel the rally.

And some leading ASX 200 mining stocks have been riding the wave.

For example, shares in Pilbara Minerals Ltd (ASX: PLS) have rocketed by 200% in the past six months.

Mineral Resources Ltd (ASX: MIN) shares have also more than doubled across the same timeframe.

And fellow Western Australian lithium miner Liontown Resources Ltd (ASX: LTR) has delivered a 104% return for its shareholders.

Looking ahead, this upbeat sentiment in the lithium sector could be set to continue, according to financial services firm Bell Potter.

The broker stated:

Lithium market supply-demand fundamentals are improving into 2026, supporting higher prices. Demand from Electric Vehicle take-up and Energy Stationary Storage continues to experience high rates of growth. While there is idled capacity on the lithium supply-side, we expect sustained higher prices will be required to support any production restarts.

And one ASX lithium stock could be set to benefit from this positive outlook.

Strategically important ASX lithium stock

Ioneer Ltd (ASX: INR) is advancing its wholly owned Rhyolite Ridge lithium and boron project in the US state of Nevada.

A recent economic evaluation pointed to annual production totalling more than 24,000 tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent, alongside 135,000 tonnes of boric acid.

And according to Bell Potter, the project represents a strategically important source of future lithium supply in the US.

It noted:

In January 2025, Rhyolite Ridge received funding support from the US Department of Energy through a US$996m, 20-year loan. The company is currently running a project sell-down process, which we expect to materially de-risk the development's remaining funding requirements. Project development should commence in 2026 to enable first production in 2029.

Not only that, but the prospect of boron production also appears to have caught the eye of Bell Potter analysts.

Critical mineral

Bell Potter noted that boron recently joined lithium on the US list of critical minerals.

In essence, boron is a rare mineral that plays a vital role in a wide range of sectors such as energy, defence, aerospace, and agriculture.

It also boasts everyday applications, including in cookware, consumer electronics, and medicine.

According to Ioneer, Turkey and the US account for about 80% of global boron production, including 30% supply coming from just the one mine in California.

It believes that Rhyolite Ridge could be the only construction-ready and fully permitted boron deposit in the US, and possibly the world.

Overall, boron is forecast to account for about 25% of the project's future revenue.

Share price in focus for this ASX lithium stock

Ioneer shares have already jumped by 50% over the past six months, rising to $0.17 per share at the time of writing.

However, Bell Potter believes that this powerful rally could continue into 2026.

The broker has placed a speculative buy rating on the company, with a price target of $0.36 per share.

This equates to 112% upside potential for investors in this ASX mining stock.

Rare earths remained firmly in the spotlight throughout 2025, as rising geopolitical tensions heightened concerns over global supply.

This group of 17 elements is critical to a wide range of modern-day industries, including clean energy, electric vehicles, consumer electronics, and robotics.

However, supply remains highly concentrated with China accounting for around 60% of global rare earths production and more than 90% of refining capacity.

This market dominance has prompted some Western nations like the US to diversify supply chains and reduce reliance on China.

As a result, several ASX mining stocks with rare earths projects outside of China have surged this year.

For instance, Lynas Rare Earths Ltd (ASX: LYC) has been a strong performer with its share price soaring by 93% since the start of January.

The company operates the Mt Weld mine in Western Australia which is widely regarded as one of the most significant rare earths deposits in the world.

However, Lynas is not the only ASX rare earths stock attracting attention.

According to Australian financial advisory firm Bell Potter, another player could be poised for serious upside.

Bell Potter's view on rare earths

Bell Potter believes the tailwinds driving the rare earths boom in 2025 are likely to persist.

These include ongoing geopolitical tensions, US government investment in mining, and expanding separation and magnet manufacturing capacity.

That said, the broker cautioned that a wave of new supply could potentially enter the rare earths market in upcoming years.

As a result, Bell Potter's preference is for projects in the bottom quartile of the cost curve and relatively low capital and execution risk.

And the broker identified Verdis Mining and Minerals Ltd (ASX: VMM) as one such opportunity.

Economically significant project

Verdis is developing its Colossus rare earths project in Brazil, located within the geologically fertile Poços de Caldas rare earths complex.

Management considers Colossus to be amongst the most economically robust rare earths projects globally.

A recent economic assessment outlined a 20 year initial mine life and a modest two-year payback period for a potential mine at the project.

However, a subsequent reserve estimate hinted that production could possibly extend for up to 40 years.

Bell Potter noted that Colossus is progressing through initial permitting, with a Preliminary Licence (LP) awaiting final approval.

It added that the project has indicative debt support for the project from within Brazil, France, and Canada.

The broker also appears drawn to the project's potential for hosting dysprosium and terbium.

These two elements play a key role in high-performance magnets used in electric vehicles, wind turbines, and defence sector technology.

Bell Potter commented:

Once in production, we believe VMM will be one of the lowest operating cost rare earth projects globally, and a meaningful provider of heavy rare earth elements Dysprosium and Terbium (Dy + Tb).

Share price in focus for this ASX mining stock

Verdis shareholders have already enjoyed a standout year.

Overall, shares in this ASX mining stock have rocketed by 184% since the start of January.

This compares with a 5.4% rise for the S&P/ASX All Ordinaries Index (ASX: XAO) across the same period.

However, Bell Potter believes this powerful rally could have plenty of fuel left in the tank.

The broker has assigned a speculative buy rating and set a price target of $2.65 per share for this ASX mining stock.

This represents potential upside of 165% from Monday's closing price of $1.00 per share.

Investors in well-known ASX retail stock Myer Holdings Ltd (ASX: MYR) have endured a tough year.

Since the start of January, Myer shares have plunged by 62% to trade at $0.47 at the time of writing.

This compares with a 5.4% rise for the All Ordinaries Index (ASX: XAO) across the same timeframe.

Not only that, but Myer shares reached a 52-week low of $0.39 each just last month, a far cry from last year's high of $1.27 per share.

Much of this weakness appears to reflect an underwhelming operating performance in recent months.

Let's take a closer look at how 2025 unravelled for the company.

What happened?

In January, a trading update rattled investors as Myer reported softer sales and a decline in operating gross profit amidst a challenging retail environment.

The market reaction was swift, with Myer shares tumbling by more than 20% on the day of the announcement.

Sentiment deteriorated further in September following the release of the company's FY25 results.

Here, Myer shares dropped by 25% on the back of a small sales increase but a significant decline in operating earnings (EBIT).

The ASX retail stock also opted not to declare a dividend, citing ongoing cost pressures and difficult retail conditions.

However, fast forward to today and investment bank Canaccord Genuity believes the outlook for Myer shares could be recovering.

Let's dive into the reasons for the broker's bullish views.

Why Myer shares could storm higher

Senior analyst at Canaccord, Allan Franklin, appeared to strike an optimistic tone following an update at Myer's AGM on Thursday last week.

The company reported that total sales for the first 19 weeks of FY26 lifted by 3% from the same time last year.

This performance marks a faster pace of growth than Canaccord's modelling.

The broker also noted that like-for-like sales for Myer Retail and Apparel Brands both showed an improvement.

According to Canaccord:

Myer's AGM commentary displayed steady progress on several fronts (engaged customers, brand curation, omni-channel execution) and pleasingly stronger-than expected YTD sales growth. Both Myer Retail and Apparel Brands look to have traded well through Oct/Nov ahead of peak trading.

Canaccord also pointed to encouraging momentum in Myer's loyalty program.

The retailer has added 475,000 new MYER one members in the first half of FY26 so far, with around half under the age of 35.

Another positive includes the expansion of Myer's partnership with Commonwealth Bank of Australia (ASX: CBA), allowing CommBank awards points to be transferred to MYER one.

In addition, JD Sports Fashion PLC (LSE: JD.) and The Dom adopted MYER one as their loyalty platform.

That said, Canaccord trimmed its earnings forecast for Myer shares, largely reflecting a more cautious view on the company's gross margins.

Upside potential for Myer shares

Overall, Canaccord appears positive on Myer's prospects.

The broker has retained its buy rating and set a target price of $0.79 per share.

This implies 68% upside potential from $0.47 per share at the time of writing.

Tungsten is not a household name amongst strategic metals on the ASX.

But its importance on the global stage seems to be rapidly coming into focus.

The metal is already classified as a critical mineral by the US, UK, and Australia, reflecting its key role in defence, aerospace, electronics, and advanced manufacturing.

This designation is also driven by growing geopolitical supply risk.

In 2024, China accounted for more than 80% of the world's tungsten output.

And earlier this year, Beijing announced export controls on the metal, heightening concerns for defence and technology industries across Western nations.

These concerns now appear to be materialising, with the European tungsten market experiencing significant supply disruptions in recent weeks.

As a result, ammonium paratungstate (APT) prices have soared to record levels, shining a light on tungsten's significance.

And against this backdrop, one ASX mining stock could be well-positioned to benefit.

Strategic ASX mining stock

Tungsten Mining NL (ASX: TGN) is a mineral exploration business advancing its flagship Mt Mulgine tungsten project in Western Australia.

The company believes Mt Mulgine represents one of the world's largest tungsten deposits outside of China.

Last month, results from a scoping study hinted at a long-term and low-cost mining operation, prompting management to label the project "globally significant".

And the market responded accordingly.

Over the past month, shares in the ASX mining stock have jumped by 91% to $0.21 apiece at Friday's close.

For context, the All Ordinaries Index (ASX: XAO) gained less than 1% over the same period.

Tungsten Mining's strategic position within the global tungsten market also caught the eye of Sydney-based financial services firm MST Financial.

MST Financial viewpoint

MST Financial initiated coverage of the company last week, highlighting significant upside potential for its share price.

The broker emphasised that Tungsten Mining offers rare exposure to exploration and development in a tungsten market facing supply shortages.

It believes other investment opportunities offering comparable exposure are limited.

The broker also highlighted Mt Mulgine's potential to support a large-scale and long-life operation.

It added that the project hosts sizeable quantities of molybdenum as a co-product, which the ASX mining stock plans to mine. This further enhances its critical minerals profile.

The global molybdenum market is similarly concentrated, with China responsible for more than 40% of primary production and downstream refining.

Separately, MST Financial noted that China has become a net importer of tungsten concentrates, adding further pressure to global supply.

More broadly, the broker believes that Chinese export restrictions could underpin potential critical minerals funding to support new tungsten sources.

Tungsten Mining share price in focus

MST Financial has valued Tungsten Mining at $0.67 per share under its conservative commodity price scenario.

This implies 219% upside potential from Friday's closing price of $0.21 per share.

However, the broker added that more optimistic outcomes are possible for the ASX mining stock.

In particular, it believes higher tungsten prices or larger production volumes could be a boon for the company's shares.

For instance, at current spot prices for tungsten and molybdenum, MST Financial's valuation for Tungsten Mining almost doubles to $1.28 per share.

Investors in Artrya Ltd (ASX: AYA) have been on a whirlwind ride in recent months.

Barely one year ago, shares in this ASX AI stock were changing hands at $0.46 apiece.

Today, Artrya shares reached a new all-time high of $4.29 in morning trade before easing back to $3.92 apiece at the time of writing.

This powerful rally represents a staggering 752% return in just twelve months, blowing the broader market out of the water.

For context, the All Ordinaries Index (ASX: XAO) has risen by 4.53% over the same timeframe.

So, what's behind this remarkable performance?

Let's take a closer look at what's driving the heat for this ASX AI stock.

Improving heart disease diagnostics

Founded in 2019, Artrya is a medical technology company commercialising cloud-based AI solutions for heart disease diagnostics.

Its flagship platform, Salix, provides rapid assessment of chest pain across emergency and primary care settings.

Management believes Salix can improve patient outcomes, lower treatment costs, and streamline clinical workflows.

A major catalyst arrived in August when Artrya secured regulatory approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its Salix Coronary Plaque module.

This milestone followed earlier FDA consent for its Salix Coronary Anatomy product.

These formal ticks of approval paved the way for Artrya to pursue entry into the lucrative American market.

Here, the ASX AI stock is targeting a US market opportunity estimated at US$4.4 billion.

And its commercialisation push appears to be gaining traction.

What happened?

Today, Artrya announced it has now achieved its first revenue from the Salix Coronary Plaque module.

More specifically, US-based Tanner Health has commenced commercial use of the module, generating maiden fee-per-scan revenues for Artrya.

Tanner Health is a community-focused healthcare network serving west Georgia and east Alabama with five hospitals and several practices.

The organisation has now activated the module at its primary hospital in Georgia, with a wider roll-out to further hospitals expected soon.

Artrya Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, John Konstantopoulos, stated:

We are thrilled to commence the first clinical use of the Salix® Coronary Plaque module at Tanner Health, which has been well supported by our new U.S. Customer Support team. The ease of activation within the Salix® Coronary Anatomy platform has been well received by the clinicians and the back end processes through to billing are also now established. We look forward to growing adoption across the entire Tanner Health network in the near term, which will generate an attractive ongoing fee to Artrya, from each scan they assess.

What else?

Today's news follows another significant step in Artrya's US expansion.

Last week, shares in the ASX AI stock jumped sharply after unveiling a three-year commercial agreement with Northeast Georgia Health System.

This deal carries a minimum value of US$0.3 million, with further fee-per-scan revenue expected from the Coronary Plaque module and, pending FDA clearance, the Salix Coronary Flow module.

2025 has been a spectacular year for a range of commodities.

For example, the gold price has jumped by 63% since early January to more than US$4,250 per ounce.

Overall, the precious metal has notched up fresh all-time highs on dozens of occasions throughout the year.

Not surprisingly, the gold price has also comfortably outpaced the broader market.

During the same period, the All Ordinaries Index (ASX: XAO) has risen by 4.87%.

But gold isn't the only metal breaking new ground in 2025.

Both silver and copper hit record prices in recent days, with silver even eclipsing gold's performance.

To elaborate, the silver price has skyrocketed by approximately 120% since the start of the year, currently trading above US$63 per ounce.

The copper price also reached a historic milestone on Thursday, surpassing US$11,800 per tonne for the first time on the London Metal Exchange.

The red metal has now risen by 35% just this year.

These stellar price runs have helped propel two ASX-listed exchange-traded funds (ETFs) to their own all-time highs.

Modern-day metals

Silver has long been regarded as a safe-haven asset, commonly used in jewellery, coins, or as bullion stored in vaults.

However, the metal's role is rapidly expanding.

Demand from solar panel manufacturers has more than doubled since 2016, and its use in electronics has also grown significantly.

These evolving applications are reshaping the metal's supply and demand dynamics and helping to drive the silver price higher.

Meanwhile, copper has long been seen as a barometer of economic health.

It has even been nicknamed 'Dr Copper' in some financial circles, due to the metal's perceived ability to predict the health and turning points of the global economy.Â

Traditionally, copper boasts mass industrial applications.

But the metal is also becoming increasingly important to the world's energy transition, with heavy use in electric vehicles and charging infrastructure.

It is also a key ingredient in AI data centres thanks to its conductivity and efficiency in power distribution and cooling.

These applications point towards strong long-term demand and help support an upward trajectory for the copper price.

Record-breaking ASX ETFs

Investors looking to capture the momentum in these booming metals have an array of options.

Amongst others, specialised ASX ETFs provide one practical avenue.

Firstly, the Global X Physical Silver Structured ETF (ASX: ETPMAG) has been available for Aussie investors since 2009.

This ASX ETF is designed to generate returns that mirror the silver price in Australian dollars, minus management fees.

It hit an all-time high this week, ending Thursday at $86.20 per share.

Overall, shares in this ASX ETF have now risen by about 96% since the start of the year.

Meanwhile, the Global X Copper Miners AUD ETF (ASX: WIRE) also reached a new peak in intraday trading on Thursday.

This ASX ETF has been providing access to a basket of the world's leading copper miners since its founding in late 2022.

The fund's holdings include positions in some leading ASX 200 mining stocks, including BHP Group Ltd (ASX: BHP) and Sandfire Resources Ltd (ASX: SFR).

Shares in this ASX ETF have now surged by 62% since the beginning of January, closing yesterday at $20.30 each.

More specifically, Wildcat Resources Ltd (ASX: WC8) has entered the spotlight following significant progress at its Bolt Cutter lithium discovery in Western Australia.

And shares in this ASX lithium stock have surged by 43% in just the past month, fuelled by a string of promising exploration results.

According to investment firm Euroz Hartleys Group Limited (ASX: EZL), the rally may still have a long way to run.

Let's take a closer look at what is driving the broker's bullish outlook for this ASX lithium stock.

Established ASX lithium stock

Wildcat is quickly cementing its place as a significant player in the Australian lithium space.

Its flagship Tabba Tabba project lies roughly 50 kilometres from Pilbara Minerals' globally renowned Pilgangoora mine.

And since acquiring the project in 2023, Wildcat has defined a 74 million tonne resource grading 1% lithium (Li2O).

A recent pre-feasibility study (PFS) for Tabba Tabba outlined an initial 17-year mine life and projected $3.2 billion in free cash flow after tax.

However, investor attention seems to have shifted to its nearby Bolt Cutter project in recent weeks, located just 10 kilometres from Tabba Tabba.

What happened?

This week, Wildcat unveiled a batch of encouraging lithium intercepts from exploration drilling at Bolt Cutter.

Notable hits included 9m at 1.84% lithium from 128m depth, and 7m at 1.03% lithium from 49m.

Overall, 17 of the 20 holes from this batch of drilling returned significant intercepts.

As a result, the mineralised strike at Bolt Cutter Central has now expanded to 1.4 kilometres in length, up from 900 metres just last month.

In addition, the lithium-hosting pegmatites remain open in most directions.

And Euroz Hartleys appears buoyant on how the discovery is shaping up.

Euroz Hartleys viewpoint

Commenting on the impact of the most recent drill results at Bolt Cutter, the broker noted:

The system is interpreted to be in a flat lying and stacked pegmatite system, on our early stage estimates we see the potential for Bolt Cutter to host mineralisation in the order of ~15-20mt at ~1% Li2O, and see it as a potential satellite operation to the flag ship Tabba Tabba project. Â

More broadly, Euroz Hartleys has identified Wildcat as the "clear standout" amongst Australian lithium developers.

It pointed to the group's strong $51 million cash position and simultaneous progress at both Bolt Cutter and Tabba Tabba.

The broker believes the market has likely underestimated the significance of Wildcat's recent acquisition of neighbouring tenements.

It expects these moves to be reflected in a definitive feasibility study, projected for completion in 2026.

Share price outlook for the ASX lithium stock

Euroz Hartleys has issued a speculative buy rating on Wildcat shares, setting a target price of $0.51 apiece.

This implies 59% upside potential from $0.32 per share at the time of writing.

The copper price surged to a new all-time high earlier this week, breaking through US$11,770 per tonne on the London Metal Exchange.

The metal has now climbed by more than 30% since early January, helping to drive strong gains for some of the leading ASX copper stocks.

For example, shares in the world's biggest copper miner BHP Group Ltd (ASX: BHP) are currently flirting with 52-week highs.

Overall, BHP shares have risen by about 13.6% since the start of the year to $45.39 per share at the time of writing.

Pure-play ASX 200 copper stocks have performed even better.

Shares in Capstone Copper Corp (ASX: CSC) have soared by 43% in the same period, with Sandfire Resources Ltd (ASX: SFR) shares also rocketing by 81%.

But one lesser-known copper exploration stock has stolen the spotlight in recent weeks.

That company is Havilah Resources Ltd (ASX: HAV), and a major development in November sent its share price soaring.

Let's take a closer look at what unfolded.

Diversified ASX exploration stock

Havilah operates a portfolio of five exploration projects scattered across the Curnamona Province in northeastern South Australia.

Collectively, these assets are prospective for various commodities such as copper, gold, uranium, and iron ore.

However, the group's flagship asset is the Kalkaroo copper, gold, and cobalt project.

Management believes Kalkaroo represents one of the larger undeveloped open-pit copper deposits in Australia.

It contains 1.1 million tonnes of copper, 3.1 million ounces of gold, and 23,200 tonnes of cobalt.

And last month, Havilah signed a transformative agreement with Sandfire that could move Kalkaroo closer to production.

What happened?

In essence, the two ASX copper stocks agreed to jointly advance Kalkaroo and form a strategic exploration alliance across the Curnamona Province.

Under the agreement, Sandfire can earn an 80% interest in Kalkaroo through a two-stage earn-in structure.

Firstly, the deal involves a $105 million upfront consideration to Havilah, comprising 70% Sandfire shares and 30% cash.

Secondly, Sandfire committed to spending another $105 million after completing a new pre-feasibility study (PFS) assessing the merits of building a mine at Kalkaroo.

Separately, Sandfire will also spend $30 million in regional exploration as it looks to unearth new copper mineralisation across the Curnamona Province.

Havilah Resources Technical Director, Dr Chris Giles, commented:

We are very pleased to have reached a binding agreement with Sandfire that provides for completion of a new Kalkaroo PFS, including a substantial drilling program targeting resource upgrade and expansion…

Immediate value for Havilah shareholders will be realised via an upfront payment, which also gives Havilah a direct stake in Sandfire's successful global mining operations via the share component.

Havliah share price in focus

The market appeared to back the agreement.

Since the deal was revealed, shares in Havilah have moved from $0.27 a month ago to $0.57 per share at the time of writing.

This equates to a 111% return for shareholders in this ASX copper stock.

For comparison, the All Ordinaries Index (ASX: XAO) is down by around 1.8% across the same timeframe.

The copper price continued its powerful run on Monday, setting a fresh all-time high after climbing past US$11,770 per tonne on the London Metal Exchange.

The metal has now gained more than 30% in London since the start of the year, comfortably outpacing the broader market.

For context, the S&P/ASX All Ordinaries Index in up by 5.16% during the same period.

This record-breaking copper rally appears to be a boon for BHP Group Ltd (ASX: BHP).

In recent years, the ASX 200 mining stock has steadily expanded its copper exposure through a series acquisitions and strategic investments.

Such efforts have propelled the company into the world's largest copper miner, having producing 500,000 tonnes of the metal in just the third quarter of 2025.

And BHP shares have benefited accordingly.

Since early January, the stock has climbed by 11.84% to $44.68 at the time of writing.

Overall, BHP shares are currently flirting with 52-week highs.

But the copper boom could still have plenty of room to run, according to US investment firm Citigroup (NYSE: C).

Let's find out why the broker is bullish on the metal.

Strong outlook

Demand for copper remains supported by both traditional and fast-growing modern applications.

Amongst others, the metal is central to the global energy transition, with significant use in electric vehicles and associated charging infrastructure.

It is also a critical component in AI data centres thanks to its conductivity and efficiency in power distribution and cooling.

Such factors hint at the prospect for long-term growth in global copper consumption.

In turn, analysts at Citi have now projected global end-use consumption to rise by 2.5% next year, as reported in the Australian Financial Review.

The broker cited a lower interest-rate environment and fiscal expansion in the US as drivers of growth, alongside European demand and the global energy transition.

Citi analysts, led by Max Layton, stated:

We have conviction in copper upside through 2026 supported by multiple bullish catalysts, including an incrementally constructive fundamental and macro backdrop.Â

As a result, Citi sees the copper price averaging US$13,000 per tonne in the second quarter of next year, under a base-case scenario.

This equates to more than 10% upside from current levels.

Implications for BHP shares?

Any further strength in the copper price is likely to be welcome news for BHP shares.

The ASX 200 mining powerhouse holds a vast portfolio of copper mines spanning Chile, Peru, South Australia, and Arizona.

All up, it produced two million tonnes of the metal in FY25.

St George Mining Ltd (ASX: SGQ) has been one of the standout performers on the ASX in 2025.

Overall, shares in this ASX rare earths stock have rocketed by 350% since the start of the year to $0.09 per share at the time of writing.

This compares with a 5.03% rise for the S&P/ASX All Ordinaries Index (ASX: XAO) across the same period.

In essence, the company is focused on brining to production its Araxá rare earths and niobium project in Brazil.

Araxá already hosts a "world class" mineral resource containing 1.7 million tonnes of total rare earths oxide (TREO) and 280,000 tonnes of niobium.

It also features shallow free-digging mineralisation that could potentially support an open pit mining operation.

The company's ambition to build a mine received a boost in October through a major $72.5 million capital raise.

Notably, this cash injection was headlined by a strategic $22.5 million investment from mining billionaire Gina Rinehart via her Hancock Prospecting business.

The funds are now supporting a series of works designed to move Araxá closer to mining, including a mineral resource upgrade and economic evaluation.

And on Monday, the company released what it described as "exceptional" drill results that could underpin a significant increase to Araxá's resource base.

What happened?

St George has already reported a series of significant rare earths and niobium intercepts from ongoing resource expansion drilling at Araxá.

The ASX mining stock now appears to have added another string to its bow with the most recent results unveiled yesterday.

New assays included the thickest high-grade intercept drilled at the project so far, consisting of 115.65 metres at 3.34% TREO and 0.34% niobium.

The latest drilling also delivered 100.1m at 3.96% TREO and 0.40% niobium, as well as 79.7m at 3.69% TREO and 0.40% niobium.

Management believes the results showcase strong continuity of shallow and high-grade mineralisation over broad intervals.

In turn, these outcomes could potentially support a substantial increase in total tonnage and overall grade for Araxá's mineral resource.

St George Mining executive chairman, John Prineas, commented:

The Araxá Project is delivering exactly what we set out to achieve – consistent, high-grade results that expand the project's scale and strengthen our confidence in what already is an exceptional, world-class Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE).

He added:

Drilling continues to deliver an extension of high-grade mineralisation to the west of the MRE footprint to demonstrate that the mineral system is open and extends beyond previously defined limits. We are excited about the pending results from further drilling completed in this area to the west of the MRE.

What next for the ASX mining stock?

The high-grade mineralisation at Araxá remains open in all directions, including at depth.

Results from a further 32 completed drill holes are expected later this year.

In addition, drilling at Araxá continues around the clock with another 25 holes scheduled for this year.

St George also plans to expand the drilling into 2026.

Investors in Felix Gold Ltd (ASX: FXG) have had a stunning run in 2025.

Shares in this ASX mining stock have rocketed by more than 300% since early January, reaching $0.365 apiece at the time of writing.

For context, the All Ordinaries Index (ASX: XAO) is up by 5.25% across the same period.

However, today has seen a setback with Felix shares sliding by 12% in Monday's trading.

In essence, the drop follows news of an $18 million capital raise.

The strongly supported placement to institutional investors was executed at $0.36 per share, marking a 12.1% discount to the five-day VWAP price in the lead-up to last Wednesday.

And today's sinking share price appears to be adjusting to that discount.

That said, the cash injection could be a blessing for the ASX mining stock as it looks to move its Treasure Creek antimony and gold project in Alaska closer to mining.

Let's find out why.

Strategic project

Antimony is classified as a critical mineral in the US.

Amongst others, the metalloid has military applications, including its use in night vision goggles, explosive formulations, flares, and infrared sensors.

In addition, the global supply of antimony is highly concentrated, with about 95% coming from China, Russia, and Tajikistan. And China recently imposed a ban on exports to the US.

This geopolitical setting could present a strategic opening for Felix as it looks to become the first antimony producer in the US in more than three decades.

Throughout the year, the ASX mining stock has been reporting rich antimony intercepts from exploration drilling at Treasure Creek, along with shallow and high-grade gold hits.

And proceeds from the placement will now fund further exploration, economic evaluations, and broader operational activities designed to move Treasure Creek closer to mining.

Management viewpoint

Management appears confident in Treasure Creek's ability to help fill the US antimony supply gap.

In particular, it pointed to the project's strong potential for delivering military-grade stibnite – a mineral form of antimony.

Felix Gold Executive Director, Joseph Webb, commented:

Recent technical work has confirmed exceptionally high-purity, near-surface stibnite capable of meeting military-grade concentrate specifications – a capability not achieved outside China in decades – at a time when China's export restrictions have further elevated the need for a US-aligned supply source.

Webb added that Felix is now fully funded to complete updated resource and economic studies, and to advance key engineering and permitting activities throughout 2026.

The ASX 200 mining stock is also preparing a bulk sampling program that could facilitate near-term production and early cash flow, whilst generating data to support longer-term development plans.

Separately, results from more than 100 recent drill holes at Treasure Creek are expected in the coming weeks.

A swarm of metals have been shining brightly throughout 2025.

From gold and silver to rare earths, copper, and even a long-awaited rebound in lithium.

Commodity markets have been rocking.

And some ASX mining stocks with exposure to these resources have surged with them.

For example, the world's biggest gold miner Newmont Corporation CDI (ASX: NEM) has seen its share price rise by 129% just this year.

And shares in leading ASX 200 lithium miner Pilbara Minerals Ltd (ASX: PLS) have ballooned by 197% since the start of June.

But another lesser-known critical metal is also having its moment.

That metal is tungsten, and one under-the-radar ASX mining stock appears to be riding the boom.

Strategic metal

Tungsten is best known for having the highest melting point of any pure metal.

Its unique combination of hardness, density, and thermal resistance makes the metal indispensable across a wide range of industrial and commercial applications.

It is commonly used in high-performance cutting tools and wear resistant metal parts, as well as high-temperature components in aerospace and industrial furnaces.

The metal also features in radiation shielding, precision counterweights in aircraft and vehicles, medical devices, specialty electronics, and electrical elements such as lamp filaments.

Unlike some other metals, tungsten is not typically sold as a raw ore.

Instead, it is chemically refined into products like ammonium paratungstate (APT), which is then processed further.

And in recent weeks, APT prices have soared.

Global supply pressures

Tungsten is officially classified as a critical mineral by numerous countries including the US, UK, and Australia.

This stems from its essential role in defence, aerospace, electronics, and manufacturing, as well as a high supply risk due to China's production dominance.

According to the US Geological Survey, China produced 83% of the world's tungsten in 2024.

And earlier this year, Beijing announced export controls on the metal, raising fresh concerns for defence and technology industries across western nations.

So what?

These concerns now appear to be playing out, with the European tungsten market experiencing significant supply challenges over the past few weeks.

More specifically, China's export controls have reportedly halted APT flows into Europe, causing the price of the metal to spike.

On Friday, the APT price in the Dutch port of Rotterdam averaged US$800 per metric tonne unit (MTU) – a measure equivalent to 10 kilograms.

At the start of November, it averaged less than US$690 per MTU.

And around this time last year, the APT price was sitting below US$400 per MTU.

This powerful price rally appears particularly timely for one ASX mining stock looking to develop its Australian tungsten deposit.

Significant tungsten project

Tungsten Mining NL (ASX: TGN) is a mineral exploration business advancing its flagship Mt Mulgine tungsten project in Western Australia.

Management considers Mt Mulgine to be amongst the largest tungsten deposits outside of China.

In early November, the group unveiled results from a scoping study assessing the merits of building a mine.

According to the company, the study demonstrated Mt Mulgine to be a "globally significant" critical minerals project with potential for long-term and low-cost production.

And shares in the ASX mining stock took off like a rocket.

Share price in focus

Over the past month, Tungsten Mining shares have surged by about 95% to close out Friday at $0.215 apiece.

Not only that, but the ASX mining stock has given shareholders plenty of reasons to smile over the past six months.

Overall, shares in the company are up more than 200% since early June.

For comparison, the S&P/ASX All Ordinaries Index (ASX: XAO) has risen by 2.1% across the same timeframe.

Not many investors are acquainted with Many Peaks Minerals Ltd (ASX: MPK), despite the company's remarkable share price performance in recent months.

At the start of the year, shares in this ASX mining stock were changing hands at $0.20 apiece.

As of Friday's close, they had surged to $0.90 per share.

This represents a stunning 350% return in less than a year.

For context, the broader All Ordinaries Index (ASX: XAO) has risen by about 5.5% over the same period.

So, what's behind the spectacular rally for this little-known ASX mining stock?

It appears much of the excitement is centred on the company's promising gold exploration results in Côte d'Ivoire.

Let's take a closer look at the latest developments.

High-grade gold hunt

In 2025, Many Peaks reported a series of broad and high-grade gold hits from exploration drilling at its Ferké gold project.

In particular, drilling at the Ouarigue prospect returned a swarm of notable intercepts, such as 84.8 metres at 3.01 grams per tonne gold.

Other significant hits included 45m at 8.58g/t gold and 230m at 1.20g/t gold.

These results seem to point to the potential of a significant mineralised system at Ferké.

And last week, Many Peaks kicked off a major new drilling campaign aimed at uncovering additional gold zones across the project.

New exploration blitz

The 2025-26 field season will comprise at least 15,000 metres of drilling.

Initially it will focus on extending known mineralisation near Ouarigue, with further drilling planned at other high-priority regional targets at Ferké.

In parallel, Many Peaks has also commenced a series of target definition works at both Ferké and its second gold project in Côte d'Ivoire known as Odienné.

These works are designed to generate new exploration targets for the ASX mining stock to test with follow-up drilling.

Many Peaks managing director, Travis Schwertfeger, stated:

Our company's rapid success in Côte d'Ivoire has resulted from steady acceleration of exploration activity over the past year, yielding resource potential with multiple high-grade gold intercepts at Ferké and delineation of extensive trends of gold mineralisation ready for follow-up work at Odienné.

Initial assays from the drill programme are anticipated in January.

Results from further drilling and other field work is expected to follow in regular intervals over the following six months.

Many Peaks share price in focus

The renewed exploration momentum has not gone unnoticed by the market.

In the past week alone, shares in the ASX mining stock have climbed from $0.72 to $0.90 per share.

This equates to a 25% return for shareholders in just five trading sessions.
