The All Ordinaries Index (ASX: XAO) is up 2.7% today, with this ASX All Ords gold stock racing ahead of those gains.

The fast-rising stock in question is Gorilla Gold Mines Ltd (ASX: GG8).

Gorilla Gold shares closed yesterday trading for 34.5 cents. In late morning trade on Wednesday, shares are changing hands for 37.5 cents apiece, up 8.7%.

The ASX All Ords gold stock looks to be catching tailwinds on two fronts today.

First, the gold price is up 2.4% overnight to US$4,819 per ounce. This follows news that US President Donald Trump has delayed the threatened escalation of the war in Iran amid renewed negotiations.

Gorilla Gold is also catching ASX investor interest after reporting on new high-grade gold intercepts at its Comet Vale Gold Project, located in Western Australia.

Here's what's happening.

ASX All Ords gold stock leaps on results

Gorilla Gold's 100% owned Comet Vale Project is part of the North Kalgoorlie Hub, which the miner noted currently hosts 1.2 million ounces at 3.7 grams of gold per tonne (1.2Moz at 3.7g/t Au).

The ASX All Ords gold stock currently has five drill rigs operating across the North Kalgoorlie Hub as part of its program aimed at growing Gorilla's high-grade resource base and supporting future studies.

In this morning's release, the miner reported on the latest drill assays from its cornerstone Sovereign Deposit, within Comet Vale.

Top results included 10.6 metres at 7.1 grams of gold per tonne from 353 metres, with another hole returning 1.1 metres at 60.2g/t Au from 261 metres.

Gorilla Gold also has a drill rig operating at its Vivien Project, targeting new high-grade discoveries.

What did management say?

Commenting on the results helping lift the ASX All Ords gold stock today, Gorilla Gold CEO Charles Hughes said, "Our 2026 exploration campaign is now really moving up a gear as the flow of assay results begins to accelerate, with the cornerstone Sovereign Deposit at Comet Vale delivering multiple impressive high-grade hits."

Hughes added:

Sovereign is the largest and highest-grade individual deposit at Comet Vale. It currently hosts 410,000oz @ 4.3g/t Au over a strike length of 1.3 kilometres – with clear potential to grow this resource out well past 2.5 kilometre in length.

Importantly, we're seeing multiple parallel lodes developing at Sovereign around the contact of two major lithological units with no real indication of where the lodes finish as we get further into the footwall of this contact. That means there is plenty of growth upside here.

Looking to the year ahead, Hughes concluded:

With 150,000 metres of drilling planned across our three key projects in 2026, investors can look forward to what we hope will be a transformational period for Gorilla Gold in the coming months.

The analyst team at Canaccord Genuity have had a look at some of the up-and-comers in the gold sector and has singled out two that they believe could more than double in value.

Let's see what they like.

Gorilla Gold Mines Ltd (ASX: GG8)

This company just this week released results from step out drilling at its Mulwarrie project site, which the Canaccord team said were "highly encouraging".

The company itself said the first holes from the new drilling "highlight significant resource growth potential''.

Results included 3.4m at 9 grams per tonne of gold from a depth of 376.9m and 0.7m at 24.8 grams per tonne of gold at a depth of 110.3m.

Gorilla Chief Executive Officer Charles Hughes said regarding the results:

The Mulwarrie Project remains significantly under-explored, and these exciting step-out drilling results demonstrate the scale of the opportunity ahead of us. Intersecting high-grade gold more than 700 metres beyond the existing resource boundary highlights the potential to materially expand the Mulwarrie Mineral Resource through continued drilling in 2026.

The company currently has a mineral resource estimate of 350,000 ounces of gold at a grade of 3.6 grams per tonne.

The Canaccord team said the new results "position Mulwarrie as a rapidly emerging, district-scale gold system with strong potential for multi-million-ounce growth''.

They added:

Prior to today, our thoughts were that over time, Mulwarrie could grow to over 1.5 million ounces. We still maintain this and are excited by both the step-out drilling and also the earlier stage geochemistry work announced today.

Canaccord has a price target of $1 per share on Gorilla shares compared with the current price of 35 cents.

Turaco Gold Ltd (ASX: TCG)

This company has also had recent news, upgrading the gold resource estimate at its Afema Project to 4.65 million ounces, up 15%, at a grade of 1.3 grams per tonne.

Canaccord said this represents a sustained growth rate of about 100,000 ounces per month.

They added:

Since the maiden resource about 18 months ago, Afema has grown by more than two million ounces, underscoring its emergence as a rapidly scaling West African gold system that sits among the largest and most advanced West African deposits on the ASX.

The Canaccord team noted that "several mineralised trends" did not make it into the new resource update, "providing clear upside ahead of further updates planned in 2026''.

Canaccord has a price target of $1.45 on Turaco shares compared with 61.5 cents currently.

At the time of writing, the benchmark index is down 0.8% to 8,629.6 points.

Four ASX shares that are not letting that hold them back today are listed below. Here's why they are rising:

4DMedical Ltd (ASX: 4DX)

The 4DMedical share price is up 6% to $2.36. This has been driven by news that the respiratory imaging technology company has received regulatory approval for its CT:VQ product. It is the world's first and only non-contrast, CT-based ventilation-perfusion imaging solution. Management notes that this approval marks a significant expansion of 4DMedical's presence in North America. This approval allows immediate commercial deployment of CT:VQ across Canada through the company's strategic partnership with electronics giant Philips.

Electro Optic Systems Holdings Ltd (ASX: EOS)

The EOS share price is up 25% to $6.27. Investors have been scrambling to buy this defence and space company's shares after it made a big announcement. EOS revealed that it has signed a binding conditional contract worth $120 million to manufacture and supply a 100kW high energy laser weapon to a company in the Republic of Korea. This conditional contract represents the second export order for a 100kW class laser defence system, following a first export order to a Western European customer earlier this year.

Gorilla Gold Mines Ltd (ASX: GG8)

The Gorilla Gold Mines share price is up 9% to 51.2 cents. This follows news that the gold developer has upgraded the estimated mineral resource for its Comet Vale project to 860,000 ounces of contained gold. Gorilla Gold's CEO, Charles Hughes, said: "The Comet Vale Project is rapidly emerging as a camp-scale gold development project, with this resource update incorporating the three new, high-grade discoveries that Gorilla has made within the project area over the past year."

Neuren Pharmaceuticals Ltd (ASX: NEU)

The Neuren Pharmaceuticals share price is up 2.5% to $19.45. Investors have been bidding this pharmaceutical company's shares higher after it received FDA approval for a new product. The regulator has given the thumbs up to Daybue STIX, which is a dye- and preservative-free powder formulation of trofinetide for the treatment of Rett syndrome. Neuren's CEO, Jon Pilcher, said: "The Neuren team is excited about the approval of this new treatment option for Rett syndrome families and the continued investment and innovation for trofinetide by our global partner, Acadia."

The surging stock in question is Gorilla Gold Mines Ltd (ASX: GG8).

Gorilla Gold shares closed on Friday trading for 47 cents. In early morning trade on Monday, shares are changing hands for 49.5 apiece, up 5.3%. The Gorilla Gold share price is now up 136% since the 12 February close, when you could have picked up shares for just 21 cents apiece.

Today's outperformance follows news of a major mineral resource upgrade at the miner's 100%-owned Comet Vale Gold Project, located in Western Australia.

Here's what's grabbing investor interest.

ASX All Ords gold share leaps on resource boost

Investors are bidding up the Gorilla Gold share price after the miner reported a 900% increase in the previously estimated mineral resource for Comet Vale to 860,000 ounces of contained gold (7.3 Mt at 3.7g/t Au).

The ASX All Ords gold shares noted that it delivered the additional ounces of gold at a discovery cost of around $25 per ounce.

The indicated component of the Comet Vale mineral resource estimate now totals 1.7 Mt at 4.1g/t Au for 220,000 ounces of gold.

Comet Vale has seen historical gold production of more than 200,000 ounces at 20g/t Au. Underground operations were running at the project until 2020.

The ASX All Ords gold share made a high-grade gold discovery at the nearby Lakeview Prospect in February 2025, with the miner noting new extensional lodes were also discovered at Cheer and Sovereign in January 2025.

Gorilla noted "clear potential" for additional increases in the gold resource base at Comet Vale. Three drill rigs are currently operating at the site.

What did management say?

Commenting on the resource upgrade helping to lift the ASX All Ords gold share today, Gorilla Gold CEO Charles Hughes said, "The Comet Vale Project is rapidly emerging as a camp-scale gold development project, with this resource update incorporating the three new, high-grade discoveries that Gorilla has made within the project area over the past year."

Hughes added:

This update to the Comet Vale Resource comes hard on the heels of the delivery of a maiden mineral resource for the Vivien Project in April 2025 and an updated resource for Mulwarrie in August 2025, capping off what has been an exceptionally busy year of drilling for the company.

As a result of this upgrade, Gorilla now collectively holds 1.5 million ounces of high-grade gold in Resources across three key projects in prime Goldfields locations in Western Australia.

Looking ahead, Hughes said, "We are now forging ahead with development studies for all three Western Australian projects, while also continuing drilling programs to deliver further Resource growth."

The outshining gold miner in question is Gorilla Gold Mines Ltd (ASX: GG8).

Gorilla Gold shares closed on Friday trading for 37 cents. In late morning trade on Monday, shares are changing hands for 38 cents apiece, up 2.7%.

With the gold price trading fairly close to Friday's levels, currently at US$4,066.35 per ounce, the ASX All Ords gold stock looks to be catching tailwinds today following a promising exploration update.

Here's what's happening.

ASX All Ords gold stock lifts off

Investors are bidding up Gorilla Gold shares after the company reported positive results from metallurgical test work on samples from recent drilling at its Mulwarrie Project, located in Western Australia.

According to the release, the ASX All Ords gold stock achieved an average gold recovery of 93% across all samples by utilising a 106 micron grind, gravity recovery, and 48hr leach kinetics, at an average sample grade of 3.6 grams of gold per tonne (g/t Au).

Those results included a maximum recovery of 98.5% and an average gravity recovery of 44.5%.

And resource growth drilling has kicked off again, with Gorilla Hold deploying one reverse circulation (RC) rig and one diamond drill (DD) rig at Mulwarrie. The rigs will initially target along strike to the south and at depth near previous strong gold intercepts.

Gorilla Gold also has three rigs operating at its Comet Vale project, located 60 kilometres from Mulwarrie. That exploratory drilling is intended to underpin the next mineral resource estimate (MRE) update after the one already scheduled for December.

What did management say?

Commenting on the results boosting the ASX All Ords gold stock today, Gorilla Gold CEO Charles Hughes said, "We are delighted with these initial metallurgical test work results, which confirm the ability to achieve exceptional gold recoveries on mineralised samples from Mulwarrie using industry-standard gold milling processes."

Hughes added:

This is an important de-risking step for the Mulwarrie Project as we begin detailed study work to evaluate development options on the current Mineral Resource of 350,000 ounces at 3.6g/t Au. Further detailed metallurgical work is currently being planned and will be undertaken as part of the next stage of study work…

We see clear potential substantially expand the overall Mulwarrie MRE by the time of the next resource update next year whilst also significantly increasing the indicated component of the resource.

With today's intraday lift factored in, the Gorilla Gold share price is up 52.5% in 2025.

The All Ordinaries Index (ASX: XAO) closed down 0.5% on Thursday, but that didn't stop this ASX All Ords gold stock from posting another day of strong gains.

The outperforming stock in question is Gorilla Gold Mines Ltd (ASX: GG8).

Gorilla Gold shares closed up 4.0% yesterday to end the day trading for 39.5 cents apiece. That came despite another modest retrace in the gold price to US$3,929 per ounce. This sees the gold price down almost 10% from its 21 October record highs.

Still, the gold price remains up almost 50% in 2025, helping Gorilla Gold shares surge 58% year to date. And alongside that increased share price and market cap, the miner officially became an ASX All Ords gold stock on 22 September when it joined the index.

That followed on the S&P Dow Jones Indices September quarterly rebalance. And it should offer support for the Gorilla Gold share price, with more fund managers now able to buy shares and All Ords index tracking funds now required to hold it.

But that's not one of the three reasons that MPC Markets' Jonathan Tacadena is bullish on the miner.

ASX All Ords gold stock on the growth path

"The company's share price has performed strongly between early February and October 23, 2025," Tacadena said (courtesy of The Bull).

Citing the first reason to buy the ASX All Ords gold stock, he said, "We believe it still offers appealing upside."

Tacadena pointed to Gorilla Gold's recently rejuvenated balance sheet as a second reason for optimism. He said:

The company recently received firm commitments to raise about $31.7 million through a placement to institutional and sophisticated investors. The funds will be used to accelerate resource growth programs across its high-grade Comet Vale, Mulwarrie and Vivien gold projects.

And it's this growth potential that's the third reason Tacadena has a buy recommendation on the Aussie gold miner.

He said:

A 4-rig drilling campaign continues at Comet Vale, while a drilling program at Mulwarrie, aimed at doubling the resource base, is planned to start in November. Recent results have been most encouraging.

Tacadena concluded, "The company's active exploration program provides an opportunity for more discoveries and presents an encouraging outlook."

A word from Gorilla Gold's CEO

The ASX All Ords gold stock announced its $31.7 million capital raising commitments on 22 October.

"We are very pleased with the level of support for the raising which was led by leading offshore institutional funds," Gorilla's CEO Charles Hughes said on the day.

Hughes added:

The demand received from these institutions, together with support from our existing shareholders, is seen as a strong endorsement of our strategy to discover and grow high-grade gold projects in the heart of Western Australia's premier gold mining districts.

Following completion of the Placement, the company is expected to hold approximately $42 million in cash, putting us in an excellent position to ensure that we can maintain our ongoing drilling momentum at Comet Vale, Mulwarrie and Vivien.

Four ASX shares that have failed to follow the market higher today are listed below. Here's why they are falling:

Gorilla Gold Mines Ltd (ASX: GG8)

The Gorilla Gold Mines share price is down 5.5% to 41.5 cents. This follows the release of an update on ongoing exploration and growth drilling at the 100%-owned Comet Vale Project in Western Australia's Goldfields. While the market appears to have been expecting better, CEO Charles Hughes was pleased with its drilling program. He said: "This maiden diamond drill-hole clearly demonstrates the growing scale and tenor of the King Kong lode, and gives us a good look at what the broader Lakeview mineral system looks like."

Nextdc Ltd (ASX: NXT)

The Nextdc share price is down 1% to $14.41. This morning, this data centre operator revealed that it has increased its senior debt facilities to $6.4 billion after securing a new $3.5 billion facility. NextDC's CEO, Craig Scroggie, commented: "In light of recent record contract wins that are accelerating our revenue and earnings growth, NEXTDC is well positioned with A$6.4 billion in debt facilities and pro forma liquidity of approximately A$5.5 billion. This strong financial flexibility enables us to confidently deliver on our record contracted capacity pipeline while maintaining our industry-leading momentum."

South32 Ltd (ASX: S32)

The South32 share price is down 5.5% to $2.89. Investors have been selling this diversified miner's shares following the release of an update on its Mozal Aluminium operation. Management revealed that its negotiations with stakeholders in Mozambique "do not provide confidence that Mozal will secure sufficient and affordable electricity beyond March 2026." As a result, it will now "limit investment in Mozal, stopping pot relining and standing down associated contractors starting this month." It then warned that "[w]ithout access to sufficient and affordable electricity, we expect that Mozal will be placed on care and maintenance at the end of the current agreement."

Telstra Group Ltd (ASX: TLS)

The Telstra Group share price is down 2.5% to $4.85. This has been driven by the release of the telco giant's FY 2025 results. Telstra reported a 4.6% increase in underlying EBITDA to $8.6 billion. This was driven largely by its key mobile business, which reported a $235 million year on year increase in EBITDA thanks to higher ARPU. Looking ahead, Telstra expects its cash EBIT to grow 5.5% to 10% in FY 2026. This appears to have been short of what some were expecting.

Four ASX shares that are falling more than most today are listed below. Here's why they are dropping:

Breville Group Ltd (ASX: BRG)

The Breville share price is down over 3% to $32.14. This follows the release of results from rival home appliance manufacturer De'Longhi at the end of last week. It seems that some investors believe this update could hint at Breville underperforming expectations in FY 2025. The team at Ord Minnett remains reasonably positive on the company. This morning, in response to the De'Longhi update, the broker has retained its accumulate rating and $35.00 price target on its shares. Though, it acknowledges that there are risks in FY 2026 from US trade tariffs.

Canyon Resources Ltd (ASX: CAY)

The Canyon Resources share price is down almost 4% to 25 cents. This follows the release of an update from the bauxite developer this morning. According to the release, Canyon Resources has completed the first drawdown from its US$140 million credit facility with AFG Bank Cameroon. It will be used towards the purchase of rolling stock and progressing key infrastructure workstreams at the Minim Martap project. Management also revealed that it continues to expect to release its updated definitive feasibility study (DFS) on schedule in August.

Gorilla Gold Mines Ltd (ASX: GG8)

The Gorilla Gold Mines share price is down over 1% to 41.5 cents. This morning, the gold developer revealed that it has completed its updated mineral resource estimate for the Mulwarrie Gold Project. Its new estimate is 3.0 Mt at 3.6g/t Au for 350,000 ounces of contained gold. Management notes that this represents a 340% increase on the previous resource estimate and a 29% increase on the previous resource grade estimate. This appears to have been lower than some investors were hoping.

Star Entertainment Group Ltd (ASX: SGR)

The Star Entertainment share price is down a further 6.5% to 8.6 cents. This casino and resorts operator's shares have come under pressure this month after it was unable to sell its stake in Brisbane's Queen's Wharf development. The company stated: "As of this morning, the parties have been unable to reach agreement on a number of outstanding commercial issues which in turn prevent the finalisation of long form documents. The Star proposed to the Joint Venture Partners an extension of the HoA termination date to 6 August 2025 to allow further time to conclude negotiations. However, the proposed extension by The Star was not accepted by the Joint Venture Partners." There are concerns that this could leave the company on the brink of collapse.

The surging company in question is Gorilla Gold Mines Ltd (ASX: GG8).

Shares in the junior gold explorer are up 8.1% during the Monday lunch hour, trading for 53.5 cents apiece.

That sees shares in the ASX gold stock up an eyewatering 1,237.5% since this time last year, when you could have picked up shares for a meagre 4.0 cents apiece.

That's enough to turn a $5,000 investment into $66,875.

In just 12 months.

Atop garnering tailwinds from the soaring gold price and promising exploration results from its Australian and Canadian assets over this past year, investors have been bidding up Gorilla Gold shares following a series of strategic acquisitions. Those include the Vivien Gold Project and the Comet Vale Project, which Gorilla Gold took 100% ownership of in late April.

(Management expect Gorilla Gold's option to acquire the remaining 49% of the Comet Vale Project to complete in the coming weeks.)

Now, here's why investors are sending the ASX gold stock flying higher again today.

ASX gold stock leaps higher on exploration results

Gorilla Gold Mines shares are enjoying another strong day of outperformance today after the company reported on a new batch of promising drill results.

The ASX gold stock is engaged in a reverse circulation (RC) exploratory drill campaign at its Lakeview Prospect, Comet Vale Project, located in Western Australia.

The miner noted that the Comet Vale Project has seen historical production of more than 200,000 ounces of gold at a grade of more than 20 grams per tonne of ore. Underground mining operations at the project were ongoing as recently as 2018.

Today, the company announced that its first RC hole drilled into a parallel structure at Lakeview intercepted high-grade gold mineralisation (12 metres at 9.2 g/t AU from 60 metres) on a newly identified parallel structure 200 metres north of the main mineralised trend.

What did management say?

Commenting on the promising drill results sending the ASX gold stock soaring again today, Gorilla Gold CEO Charles Hughes said, "What a great first hole into the parallel 'Jambo' structure at Lakeview!"

Hughes said Gorilla Gold Mines has been communicating the chance of intersecting parallel mineralised structures at its Lakeview project. "And now we have shown the possible tenor we might be able to expect from these parallel structures."

Looking to what's ahead for the ASX gold stock, Hughes added:

GG8 continues to drill the King Kong and Jambo structures with three rigs. We will be getting to more of the targets over the coming weeks and months whilst we continue to drive the Lakeview discovery forward with resource growth drilling.

At the time of writing, the benchmark index is down almost 0.2% to 8,329.2 points.

Four ASX shares that are not letting that hold them back are listed below. Here's why they are rising:

Electro Optic Systems Holdings Ltd (ASX: EOS)

The EOS share price is up 14% to $1.48. This morning, this defence and space systems company announced that it has won a major counter-drone contract. EOS revealed that it has secured a new order for Remote Weapon Systems worth 31 million euros (A$53 million). The company notes that the order is from a European naval systems integration business and is for its flagship "Slinger" Counter-Drone Remote Weapon System (RWS), and the systems will be configured for naval deployment.

Gorilla Gold Mines Ltd (ASX: GG8)

The Gorilla Gold Mines share price is up 7.5% to 53.2 cents. This follows the release of an update from the gold explorer relating to the Lakeview Prospect in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. According to the release, the first hole drilled into a parallel structure at Lakeview has intercepted high grade gold mineralisation on a newly identified parallel east-west oriented structure. This is 200 metres north of the main mineralised trend. CEO Charles Hughes commented: "What a great first hole into the parallel "Jambo" structure at Lakeview!"

Lendlease Group (ASX: LLC)

The Lendlease share price is up over 1% to $5.59. Investors have been buying the property developer's shares after it officially signed a joint venture agreement with the Crown Estate in the United Kingdom. Lendlease CEO, Tony Lombardo, said: "This partnership will create an industry leading alliance that is expected to unlock value within our high-quality UK development portfolio, while accelerating the release of capital for the Group. With our expertise in delivering city shaping urban regeneration projects, the joint venture aims to deliver positive outcomes for our securityholders, communities and partners."

OFX Group Ltd (ASX: OFX)

The OFX Group share price is up a sizeable 16% to $1.31. This is despite there being no news out of the international payments and foreign exchange provider this morning. However, there will be news coming shortly. In response to its shares shooting higher, they have been paused from trade pending the release of an announcement. Whatever the cause, Wilsons is likely to be supportive of the buying. Earlier this month, the broker put an overweight rating and $2.11 price target on its shares.

In afternoon trade, the benchmark index is up a fraction to 7,935.5 points.

Four ASX shares that are rising more than most today are listed below. Here's why they are climbing:

Amplitude Energy Ltd (ASX: AEL)

The Amplitude Energy share price is up over 2% to 22.5 cents. This morning, the Australian gas production company formerly known as Cooper Energy announced a binding joint venture with O.G. Energy. According to the release, the two parties have entered into joint venture arrangements to progress the East Coast Supply Project (ECSP) on a 50/50 basis to deliver additional gas supply to the structurally short East Coast market. Management notes that the first gas supplied from the ECSP is targeted in 2028, utilising existing brownfield infrastructure. This will help mitigate expected shortfalls in the market while supporting energy security for Australian customers.

Catapult Group International Ltd (ASX: CAT)

The Catapult Group share price is up 3% to $3.62. This could have been driven by the sports technology company's shares being added to the S&P/ASX 300 Index this morning following the quarterly rebalance. When this happens, it means funds that track the index, such as the popular Vanguard Australian Shares Index ETF (ASX: VAS), need to buy shares to reflect the change.

Gorilla Gold Mines Ltd (ASX: GG8)

The Gorilla Gold Mines share price is up 6% to 42.5 cents. This morning, the gold miner formerly known as Labyrinth Resources returned to trade after securing firm commitments for a $25 million institutional placement. Management advised that it was supported by leading domestic and international resource investors. The funds are being raised at $0.38 per share, which represents a discount of 5% to its last close price. The company notes that this leaves it in an "excellent position to accelerate exploration at our very exciting Lakeview discovery."

Mineral Resources Ltd (ASX: MIN)

The Mineral Resources share price is up 5% to $23.95. This follows news that haulage operations resumed on the Onslow Iron dedicated haul road on 21 March 2025. The resumption followed constructive discussions with WorkSafe WA regarding controls and risk mitigation. The previously announced works program to upgrade the haul road continues on schedule for completion in the first quarter of FY 2026. Management advised that transhipper four, MinRes Rosily, also commenced operations at the Port of Ashburton on 22 March. This increases Onslow Iron's transhipping capacity to 28 million tonnes per annum.
