About Audinate Group Ltd
Audinate Group Ltd (ASX: AD8) is an Australian company specialising in digital audio networking technology. The company began life in 2003 when a small group of engineers received a grant from the National Information and Communications Technology of Australia (NICTA) to continue working on the design of new audio networking technology. After several years refining their technology, which went on to be named Dante, the team was spun off from NICTA to form Audinate in 2006.
From humble beginnings, Audinate has gone on to become the leading provider of AV-over-IP solutions for modern audio connectivity. The Dolby Lake Processor was the first professional audio device to be equipped with Dante and was debuted at a Barbra Streisand concern in 2008. Today, the company works with a diverse range of partners around the world, helping them integrate the Dante platform into their products. Dante has been adopted by hundreds of manufacturers globally including Bosch Communications Systems, Yamaha Commercial Audio, Harman, Symetrix and Midas, to name a few. The company continues to develop the Dante platform including innovations across both hardware and software solutions.
Audinate is headquartered in Sydney and also has offices in the United States, the United Kingdom and Hong Kong. The Audinate share price first listed on the ASX in 2017 and trended up until early 2020. The Audinate share price was hit hard by the February/March 2020 bear market, falling more than 60% between January and March. Since then, as at late September 2020, the Audinate share price has partially recovered but is yet to reach it pre-COVID highs.
